Kristin Cavallari Sets the Record Straight on Past Chris Evans Dating Rumors: ‘Not True’

Kristin Cavallari wants to put some of her love life rumors to bed, specifically those infamous claims she dated Captain America himself, Chris Evans.
Cavallari, 38, opened up about her dating history on the Tuesday, April 15, episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast, clarifying that years-long rumors she and Evans, 43, dated are “not true.” She explained, “Chris Evans and I had a similar friend group, and I think that we were at an event one night as a group, like, there was a group of us there. We saw each other socially.”
Cavallari stated that she “never dated” the Marvel star, noting that she “didn’t even go on one date with him.” She added, “Literally, nothing ever happened. And there’s been these rumors for years that we dated. Well, we never dated.”
Back in 2008, rumors spread that the Laguna Beach alum and Evans had hooked up during a trip to Miami, which she later clarified were false. “No, we’re just friends,” she told Us Weekly in October 2008. “I’ve known Chris for a while, just through mutual friends. I’ve known him for a few years, actually.”
At the time, Cavallari told Us she was looking for someone “who can really make me laugh,” adding, “Looks go away after a while … so someone who can really make me laugh and who’s secure with themselves.”
After Evans, Cavallari sparked romance rumors with her The Hills costar Justin Bobby Brescia. “Another person I did not date is Justin Bobby, and I’ve said that a thousand times,” she stated on Tuesday’s podcast. “I never saw him outside of filming. Never ever. Not one time did I see him outside of filming.”
Cavallari said, “The only time I kissed [Justin] was when they asked me to kiss him on camera,” noting, “Back in the day, I was like, ‘Yes, I’m a team player.’ I was getting paid for The Hills like I would a scripted show. … [I] never saw him outside of filming. I never dated him. I don’t even know if I would consider me dating him on the show. What, they had me get on his motorcycle one time? OK, well, that was all for the show. I never would have just done that.”
Cavallari eventually found love with former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, and the two tied the knot in 2013. They went on to welcome three kids together — Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 9 — before calling it quits in April 2020. The exes finalized their messy split two years later.
In the years since, Cavallari has gone on to date Jeff Dye, Chase Rice and Mark Estes, and revealed earlier this month that she briefly dated former NHL star Nate Thompson last year. Evans, for his part, was romantically linked to stars such as Dianna Agron, Ashley Greene, Sandra Bullock, Lily Collins, Minka Kelly, Jenny Slate and Lily James before he sparked romance rumors with Alba Baptista in 2021.
News broke in September 2023 that the couple had tied the knot, and Evans confirmed the pair had “two ceremonies” one month later. “We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal,” he announced at New York City Comic Con in October 2023. “My wife’s Portuguese. Yeah, go Portugal!”
