Lady Gaga and Jenna Ortega serve witchy drama in corsets and cutouts at ‘Wednesday’ event

A round of applause for Jenna Ortega and Lady Gaga.
The duo, who will appear together in part two of Season 2 of “Wednesday,” hit the red carpet for Spotify and Netflix’s “Graveyard Gala” on Thursday night in New York City, coordinating in witchy goth looks.
Ortega, the show’s titular character, dressed in a custom GapStudio by Zac Posen charcoal-colored, distressed T-shirt dress featuring an open back with cutouts that extended all the way down to her hips.
In the front, a black lace bra subtly peeked out of the cotton jersey creation’s sweetheart neckline, which also boasted slim halterneck straps.
Styled by Enrique Melendez, the “You” alum’s gown was inspired by the once-popular Y2K DIY T-shirt aesthetic, according to a press release, and was made using a wash-house treatment that “creates a textured play of light and dark tones.”
“Jenna Ortega embodies the perfect blend of edge and sophistication, mystery and theatricality that makes her such a compelling artist,” Posen, Gap Inc.’s Executive Vice President and Creative Director, said in the statement.
He continued, “The look we created allowed us to push the boundaries of what Gap’s cotton jersey T-shirt can become. — working in the techniques of slashing, shredding, braiding, knotting and macrame ladder, bringing T-shirt reconstruction to a couture level.”
Ortega’s bleached eyebrows, dark, smoky eye and partially braided hairstyle were in step with the edgy vibe, as were her gigantic black platform boots.
Lady Gaga, who is portraying Rosaline Rotwood, a teacher at Wednesday’s school, Nevermore Academy, arrived in an over-the-top black outfit by emerging designer and Central Saint Martins graduate Anton Femia.
Her outlandish look included ruffled sleeves and billowy pants, with the bodice broken up by a corset adorned with jewels.
She topped it off with an oversized jester-esque umbrella hat designed by Matthew David Andrews and made by milliner Jenny Beattie.
Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 hits Netflix on September 3.
