Late real estate mogul Brandon Miller owed more than $100K for luxury furniture, $50K for boat: suits
Late real estate mogul Brandon Miller owed more than $100,000 for luxury furniture and $50,000 for boat-related fees, according to separate lawsuits obtained by Page Six.
Interior Marketing Group, Inc. sued Brandon, who was married to Mama + Tata co-founder Candice Miller, in April after he allegedly “failed and refused to pay” his balance of $102,730.27 for the company’s luxury rental services, the court documents state.
The lawsuit also claims Brandon, who died last week in the Hamptons at age 43, “refused to return” more than $64,000 worth of furnishings from their Park Avenue apartment in Manhattan.
The furniture the couple rented were “high-end living, dining and bedroom furniture and various accessories, including, but not limited to, dining and family room fixtures, area rugs, table lamps, bedroom desks and chairs, credenzas, bedframes [sic], pillows, draperies and sheers and artwork,” according to the lawsuit.
Interior Marketing Group is suing for the money back on the furnishings as a whole in addition to the value of the furniture he allegedly never returned, amounting to more than $166,000 in total.
Separately, Lighthouse Marina, located on Long Island, New York, sued the managing partner of REEC on May 15 for failing to pay his balances for the services rendered on his boat, MillerTime, which had been docked beginning in October 2020.
By October 2022, Brandon allegedly owed the marina nearly $40,000 and demanded payment; however, the real estate tycoon allegedly never “responded nor acknowledged” the demand letter and eventually accrued a debt of $55,205.76 in charges, the documents state.
“Defendant received the boat, used it, enjoyed it and in result traded it in for a bigger boat, which Defendant would not have been able to do but for the repairs performed by Plaintiff,” the documents read.
“Defendant received the benefit of the repairs that were never paid for.”
Lighthouse Marina is suing for his unpaid invoices, breach of contract and legal fees.
Reps for the Millers didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
A few days before his untimely death last Wednesday, Brandon had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. He was laid to rest over the weekend at the New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon.
A cause of death has yet to be released.
He is survived by Candice — who was his childhood friend before they tied the knot in 2009 — and their two children.
