Lisa Barlow Says the Osmonds Aren’t Mad After RHOSLC Diss: ‘If Donny and Marie Knew Who I Was, They Would Love Me’ (Exclusive)
It’s all love with Lisa Barlow!
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star spoke with PEOPLE at the 2024 Bravo Fan Fest on Nov. 23, where she opened up about a recent unexpected encounter. When asked if she was on the Osmond family’s bad side after Donny and Marie’s nephew Jared became a storyline on this season of RHOSLC, Barlow revealed an update.
“Oh my gosh, funny story,” she said. “I was at a restaurant with my girlfriends, it’s one by my house, with two of my girlfriends, and we were joking, we’re like, ‘Jared’s probably here.’ Next thing you know, a waitress comes up to us and she’s like, ‘Jared Osmond is right over there. He’d like to say hello.’”
“I can’t make this up,” she added. “So we went over and joked with Jared, had a good time with Jared. Then Britani [Bateman] showed up, then Heather [Gay] showed up. It was like a party!”
Jared was featured on the reality show because he and Bateman were in an on-and-off relationship at the time, but the pair have since broken things off.
Although the episodes where the women bashed Jared for his behavior towards Bateman have already aired, Barlow said the reunion was not awkward at all.
“Jared loves me,” she exclaimed. “I’m sure if Donny and Marie knew who I was, they would love me too.”
Donny recently reacted to Jared’s appearance on RHOSLC in an interview with E!, sharing his true feelings about his portrayal.
“I understand it’s a little bit risqué, but to each his own,” Donny told the outlet. “I haven’t watched it, but good for him. There’s a lot of Osmonds.”
He later joked that it is difficult to stay in touch with the entire family, saying, “Let’s put it like this: When there’s a family reunion, the whole state of Utah comes together. That’s how big it is.”
Fans first learned that Donny and Jared — who is the son of Virl Osmond — were related when the women on the show learned his notable last name. In the season 5 premiere, Gay even explained that dating an Osmond “in Mormon culture is the equivalent of dating Prince Harry.”
On an Oct. 23 RHOSLC Aftershow following the shocking scene, Britani explained where the two stood after viewers saw her bring a different man to a cast party shortly after declaring they were officially boyfriend and girlfriend.
“Jared and I were on a break for about two weeks at that point, and I think Aaron [her date] and I had been out three or four times,” she said in a conversation with Barlow. “Back then, my self-esteem was just in the toilet. And so I was like, ‘Well, fine. I’m not the fish you want to catch? I’m not good enough for you?’ Well, boom. I’m gonna get on social and see what I can do. Boom. 10,000 hits on Bumble. Boom. 15,000 on Tinder. And I’m gonna have my pick.”
She then confirmed that she and Jared have been broken up for several months.
“I found shady stuff going on behind my back and I broke up [with him],” she said. “He was on a dating app and wouldn’t show me his phone.”
