Love Is Blind’s Madison Says She’s Single, Describes Her Ideal Relationship After Joe Split
Love Is Blind season 9 star Madison Maidenberg is ready to mingle after her breakup from Joe Ferrucci.
“I am single and accepting recommendations,” Madison, 28, wrote via her Instagram Story on Thursday, October 23, after being asked if she was seeing anybody new.
In a follow-up slide, Madison revealed her wish list for a future partner.
“Quality I want: grounding, assured consistent energy,” Madison said, going on to list what she doesn’t want. “Inconsistent, destabilizing [and] confusing.”
Madison got engaged to Joe, 29, sight unseen in the Love Is Blind pods, but their seamless connection faltered in real life. Joe ultimately called off their engagement ahead of their wedding day, claiming Madison just wasn’t The One.
“It seemed Madison was all in and what you would want in a person. I, on the other hand, had some concerns, nervous, scared, anxious. I never saw that coming from Madison,” Joe exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month. “I think it scared me seeing that as well, and I know she wanted to keep on with the experiment, go through, get as much as you can out of it, in the way of, ‘Is this my person?’ More time for discovering that. I think there was a certain breaking point for me where I couldn’t go on any longer.”
Joe hit his “breaking point” while shopping for a wedding tux, abruptly running out of his fitting as Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” played in the background.
“I definitely crashed out. At that certain point, [I’m thinking], ‘Why am I going through these motions if I have in my head that, ultimately, I’m not going to be able to say yes on that wedding day?’” Joe recalled to Us. “It felt a little faulty on my part, and I could have handled it better. That’s the story of my experiment on TV. It just felt disingenuous on my part to even be there, if I didn’t think we had enough time to get there or if I knew this wasn’t my person.”
As for Madison, she eventually realized that Joe wasn’t her perfect match either.
“I want and deserve to be chosen, and in the pods I felt so chosen,” Madison said on an October 16 episode of the “Love to See It” podcast. “I felt so wanted, and I hadn’t felt that literally since [the] reveal. It was kind of, like, ‘Alright, it’s time for me to be real with myself and stop being such a lover girl and really allow the curtain to come down.’ I guess the moment that I felt like it was truly done was when I took my ring off.”
She continued, “I was like, ‘I guess, I shouldn’t be wearing this anymore. This conversation isn’t going to go anywhere else. I’m not going to get any answers to this, and I need to begin my healing journey.’”
Madison further expanded on how she’s moved on from her broken engagement on Thursday.
“I have an incredible therapist,” Madison wrote via her Instagram Story. “I fully recalibrated and got very in touch with my character and learned to trust my intuition to see red flags for what they are. I have an incredible support system, so that has been monumental.”
Madison and Joe will next come face-to-face during the Love Is Blind season 9 reunion, which airs on Netflix Wednesday, October 29, at 9 p.m. ET.
