‘Love Island USA’ star Nic Vansteenberghe’s mom calls him out for having sex on camera

Ortega, 25, was removed from the villa for “personal reasons” in last Sunday’s episode.

While additional details about her exit weren’t provided on the show, her departure came soon after her past use of an anti-Asian slur resurfaced on social media.

Fans called for the influencer to be removed from “Love Island USA,” pointing out that Yulissa Escoba left the show in June after similarly being slammed online over her past use of a racial slur.

Ortega eventually broke her silence in a lengthy Instagram statement Wednesday, recognizing the racial slur she used was “incredibly offensive.”

“I am deeply, truly, honestly so sorry. I had no idea that the word held as much pain as much harm, and came with the history that it did or I never would have used it,” she said at the time.

The content creator also noted that her future actions “will speak louder than any apology.”

She insisted, “If you want to know that you are heard and that I’m sorry and that I will move differently, I promise you, that’s what will happen.”

Since Ortega left the show, Vansteenberghe was paired up with another “Islander,” Olandria Carthen.

The nurse’s mom told her son Friday she had been rooting for the new couple from the very start.

In June, Vansteenberghe’s mother said in a TikTok video that she “initially” felt “a spark” between her son Carthen, 27.

“I felt like they had this passionate thing between them and I like her because she’s got a good head on her shoulders and she’s very authentic,” she said at the time. “She’s solid. And she’s beautiful. Jesus, I’m so jealous of her body.”

Vansteenberghe’s mother was also able to share her approval for the Alabama-born beauty in person on Friday’s episode. Carthen and Vansteenberghe are finalists on Season 7 of “Love Island USA.”
