Mamie Laverock shares ‘gratitude’ after receiving $39K in donations amid balcony fall recovery
“When Calls the Heart” star Mamie Laverock expressed her “gratitude” after receiving more than $39,000 in donations amid her recovery from a five-story balcony fall.
“Thank you so much. I don’t even know what to say. My heart is full,” read a note from Laverock, 20, on her family’s GoFundMe page.
“Thank you again. I have no words to describe my gratitude. Love you guys.Thank you. MAMIE.”
The actress’ mother, Nicole Rockman, and her stepdad, Rob Compton, closed the fundraiser on July 18 after surpassing its $30,000 goal.
“Please know how much you helped this family in our hardest circumstances,” the couple wrote in a concluding message. “Thank you for caring.”
Laverock was hospitalized in May for an undisclosed “medical emergency” and transferred to St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, where her body was “shattered” in a fall.
The Hallmark actress was subsequently placed on life support and underwent “multiple extensive surgeries.” Her family provided updates on the fundraiser page, noting Laverock was “doing well” despite her recovery “remain[ing] unclear” at the time.
Laverock eventually turned a corner, but her mother acknowledged that her “road to recovery will be long.”
“I will be setting up a mailbox for all of your cards and well wishes shortly,” Rockman posted on her daughter’s Facebook page.
Rockman told the Los Angeles Times about her intention to sue St. Paul’s Hospital in light of Laverock’s accident.
“We have a case,” shared Rockman, who released a photo of her daughter lying in a hospital bed. “All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she’s alive and that she’s fighting and that she’s strong.”
Laverock is best known for playing Rosaleen Sullivan in “When Calls the Heart” and also has had roles in “The Killing Game” and “This Means War.”
