Megan Thee Stallion breaks silence on Klay Thompson romance at inaugural benefit gala

Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson made their red carpet debut Wednesday evening at her inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City.

“I have never dated somebody so kind,” the rap superstar exclusively gushed to Page Six of her new romance, while on the red carpet. “This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.”

“I just never dated somebody like him before and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me.”

The new couple — who sparked dating rumors just earlier this month after Megan subtly featured Thompson in the background of one of her sexy social media snaps — were looking cozy as they walked out hand-in-hand on the carpet.

They both held each other close, giving big smiles as they took pictures together in front of the step-and-repeat.

Before leaving his new love to take solo photos, Thompson stopped to give the rapper a quick smooch.

Megan was in great spirits Wednesday, while seeing one of her goals come to fruition.

“I feel like I’m carrying on a good legacy of my family name. I know [my parents are] looking down on me super proud,” the “Hot Girl Summer” singer told us of her first-ever benefit gala, which is raising funds for programs focused on education, housing, health and wellness in honor of her late parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete III.

Megan attended the black-tie event dressed in a black form-fitting halter gown featuring a dazzling jeweled belt. She styled her hair in a slicked bun.

Thompson, meanwhile, supported his lady in a dapper in a classic black tuxedo.

Other stars present for the gala were rappers Fat Joe, SAINt JHN, singer Muni Long and award-winning actress Taraji P. Henson, who also took on hosting duties for the glamorous night.

Despite getting all dolled up Wednesday, Page Six learned that Megan, 30, and Thompson, 35, were like many couples in America earlier this week watching “Love Island USA” from the comfort of their homes.

However, her new beau is “the real ‘Love Island’ fan,” the “Body” rapper told us.

Thompson made his relationship with Megan Instagram-official last weekend by posting photos of the pair giving each other kisses and holding hands while on vacation.

The “Savage” rapper then gave more of a glimpse into her romance with the Dallas Mavericks star by sharing in a since-deleted TikTok video the Labubu gifts that “[her] man” got her, while sitting on his lap.

Prior to Thompson, Megan dated rapper Pardison “Pardi” Fontaine from 2021 to 2023.
