Meghan Markle enjoys stylish NYC night out in one of Princess Diana’s favorite patterns

Meghan Markle had a chic night out in NYC.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, brought her classic style to the Big Apple, enjoying an evening with friends amid Prince Harry’s work trip to Ukraine in a bold black-and-white outfit.

Seen in photos exclusively obtained by Page Six, Markle stepped out in a black button-up blouse and houndstooth Carolina Herrera maxi skirt ($1,390) from the designer’s spring 2025 collection.

It seems Markle took fashion inspiration from Princess Diana, as houndstooth was one of the late royal’s favorite patterns.

In 1987, Diana wore a striking houndstooth blazer in Munich with an oversized flat-brimmed hat and a cinched belt.

And one of Prince Harry’s mother’s most famous outfits was a red-and-white houndstooth jacket with a black turtleneck and coordinating black-and-white pencil skirt, which she wore to Princess Eugenie’s christening in 1990, and a later 1991 visit to Toronto.

Kate Middleton recalled the colorful version when she wore a red houndstooth Catherine Walker coat to a rugby match in 2023.

Markle, meanwhile, styled the neutral ensemble with coordinating black pumps and what appears to be a pearl necklace.

All smiles in the imagery, Markle wore her dark brunette hair straight with a middle part and opted for her signature understated makeup look.

The former actress and her pals kicked off the evening having an early dinner at the Polo Club, followed by a Broadway show — seeing a revival of “Gypsy,” starring Tony winner Audra McDonald — at the Majestic Theatre.

Meanwhile, the As Ever founder’s husband made a surprise trip to Ukraine, meeting with war victims, as well as Natalia Kalmykova, Ukraine’s minister of veterans affairs.

Earlier this week, the Duke of Sussex was across the pond making court appearances, attempting to get his British security detail restored after it was revoked in 2020.

Markle’s NYC night out comes on the heels of the debut of her podcast, “Confessions of a Female Founder,” which premiered on April 8.

For the podcast, the “Suits” alum ditched her last name, which comes a month after she made headlines for informing friend Mindy Kaling she now goes by “Sussex” on her new Netflix show “With Love, From Meghan.”
