Melanie Griffith and ex-husband Antonio Banderas link arms in rare night out

Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas enjoyed a rare night out in Los Angeles on Sunday, proving they’re some of the friendliest exes in Hollywood.

The former couple were photographed linking arms as they left dinner smiling as they walked together.

Griffith, 68, wore jeans and a black moto jacket and fingerless gloves while Banderas, 65, donned black pants and a silver bomber jacket as he held a white baseball cap. 

The actors weren’t alone, as their daughter Stella and her husband Alex Gruszynski followed closely behind.

Banderas shared a more intimate snap with his family to Instagram on Monday, posting a photo of himself, Griffith, Stella and Gruszynski candidly laughing on a couch.

“A lovely and fun moment yesterday in Los Angeles with my son-in-law Alex, my daughter Stella, and my ex-wife and lifelong friend, Melanie,” he captioned the post in both English and his native Spanish.

Griffith and Banderas first met on the set of the 1995 rom-com “Two Much” and married the following May in London.

Their divorce was finalized in December 2015, a year and a half after Griffith originally filed.

In a statement at their time of their split, the former couple said: “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost-20-year marriage in a loving and friendly manner, honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together.”

While Stella is Banderas’ only child, Griffith has three other children from previous marriages, most famously daughter Dakota Johnson, whom she shares with two-time ex-husband Don Johnson.

Griffith and Don were first married briefly in 1976 before a more successful run from 1989 to 1996.

Banderas, who now lives in his home country of Spain after fleeing Hollywood following a near-fatal heart attack a decade ago, recently reunited with his ex-wife for daughter Stella’s wedding.

Stella married Gruszynski, her childhood sweetheart, in a lavish Spanish ceremony in October 2025.

“The wedding of my daughter Stella has turned into a heartfelt family reunion, emotional, joyful, and full of laughter,” Banderas wrote on Instagram at the time. “Thank you to everyone who made this possible.”

Griffith wrote in her own separate post, “Stella and Alex are married!! ❤️ This was the most joyful, loving, sweet, magnificent time!!”

“So much love!” she added. “The knot has been tied!! ❤️❤️❤️.”
