‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2 Finds a Creative Way to Mention Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Season 2 of Nobody Wants This is full of romance twists and star-studded cameos — plus an unexpected Prince Harry and Meghan Markle mention.
Netflix released a new batch of episodes on Thursday, October 23, which followed not only Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah’s (Adam Brody) relationship ups and downs but Morgan’s (Justine Lupe) as well.
After finding love with her therapist Dr. Andy (Arian Moayed), Morgan was surprised that her sister wasn’t supportive of the relationship, which led to a fight during their mother’s birthday party.
“Am I supposed to believe everything you say?” Joanne asked Morgan. “According to you, you could have been Meghan Markle.”
Morgan stood by her statement, firing back, “I said I saw Prince Harry at a bar and there was a vibe, OK? And there was a vibe!”
While the sisters are on the outs multiple times throughout the season, they put it all behind them by the finale. Morgan’s relationship with Dr. Andy doesn’t have the same success, however, with the couple calling off their surprise engagement before the season ends. Joanne, for her part, briefly gets broken up with by Noah at Morgan’s engagement party, but they reunite before the night is done.
Nobody Wants This, which premiered in September 2024, centers on the unlikely relationship between Joanne, an outspoken, agnostic woman, and Noah, an unconventional rabbi. The Netflix series received praise from critics and fans alike for the intense onscreen chemistry between the two leads.
“They just have, like, unreal chemistry. It’s crazy because they’re friends in real life. They don’t have that chemistry off camera,” series creator Erin Foster, who loosely based the show off her own marriage, told TVLine at the time. “There’s no, like, sexual tension on set, and then the camera goes, and it’s like, ‘Holy s***!’ It’s really there.”
Bell’s husband, Dax Shepard, shared his thoughts on the overwhelming interest in her onscreen romance with Brody, 45.
“We watched that scene together, the kissing scene, which I’d argue is the very best kissing scene ever, ever put on film,” Shepard, 50, shared at the New Yorker Festival in September 2024. “And my best friend, Aaron, from childhood, he goes, ‘Does she ever kiss you like that?’ No, I didn’t even know she could kiss like that.”
Shepard joked he had some competition now when it came to his chemistry with Bell, 45, adding, “[It is] not as good as her and Brody.”
Brody has also spoken about the show’s success, telling The Hollywood Reporter in December 2024, “I’ve gotten a lot of interesting stuff. My email is fuller than it was.”
He continued: “If I’m looking to not do something, it’s probably nothing that is too similar to the show. Other than that, quality of writing is a precious jewel and anything well-written, anyone would be lucky to do it.”
Nobody Wants This is currently streaming on Netflix.
