Olivia Munn revealed her breast cancer treatments put her into medically induced menopause.

The actress, 43, told People in a candid interview published Wednesday that she noticed symptoms after beginning hormone suppression therapy in November 2023 to reduce her risk of a cancer recurrence.

“I’m constantly thinking it’s hot, my hair is thinning, and I’m tired a lot,” she shared.

Munn opted to keep her cancer battle private for nearly a year in order to “fight without any outside noise at all.”

“I was not someone who obsessed over death or was afraid of it in any way, [but] having a little baby at home made everything much more terrifying,” she said of her 2-year-old son, Malcolm, whom she shares with her partner, John Mulaney.

“When I’m with him, it’s the only time my brain doesn’t think about being sick. I’m just so happy with him. And it puts a lot of stuff into perspective. Because if my body changes, I’m still his mom. If I have hot flashes, I’m still his mom. If I lose my hair, I’m still his mom. That’s really what matters the most to me. I get to be here for him.”

Last month, Munn made the shocking announcement that she had been diagnosed with cancer after multiple tests found she had a fast-moving, aggressive form known as luminal B in both breasts.

Though she initially tested negative for the BRCA gene — the most well-known gene to cause cancer — in February 2023, the “Newsroom” star’s doctor opted to calculate her Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score, which ultimately “saved [her] life.”

“You realize cancer doesn’t care who you are; it doesn’t care if you have a baby or if you don’t have time,” she told People. “It comes at you, and you have no choice but to face it head-on.”

Munn underwent four surgeries in 10 months, including a double mastectomy.

“There’s so much information, and you’re making these huge decisions for the rest of your life,” she noted.

“I really tried to be prepared, but the truth is that nothing could prepare me for what I would feel like, what it would look like and how I would handle it emotionally. It was a lot tougher than I expected.”

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” star also shared that she had a nipple delay procedure — which spares the nipples — as well as reconstruction surgery.

“I know a lot of women want to go bigger, but [I said], ‘Go smaller.’ Even as the anesthesia was making its way into my body, the last thing I said was, ‘Please go smaller,’” she recalled.

Throughout Munn’s battle, Mulaney, 41, remained an “incredibly hands-on father” to their only child.

“It would’ve felt like climbing an iceberg without him,” she gushed of the comedian, whom she has been dating since 2021. “I don’t think he had a moment to himself. … And he did it all happily.”
