Olivia Munn Shares New Family Photos While Celebrating 1st Month With Daughter Mei

Olivia Munn is sharing a special look into her first month raising daughter Méi.
In a new social media post, the actress shared a carousel of photos featuring her baby girl, who she welcomed via gestational surrogate on September 14.
“The first month of Méi 💕,” Munn, 44, wrote via Instagram on Monday, October 14, while sitting on the couch with her little one.
The post also featured a video clip of Munn patting her baby girl’s stomach as she slept in her crib. Other candid photos included Méi yawning on the couch, enjoying cuddles by dad John Mulaney and being lovingly watched by her big brother Malcolm, 2.
Munn’s latest Instagram post ended with a photo of herself and Mulaney, 42, wearing matching bunny socks as a cup of coffee appeared on the table.
Munn first announced the arrival of her daughter Méi on September 22. “I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “When I first met our gestational surrogate, we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel. Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true.”
Munna added that she was “so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded. Méi (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese 梅💜.”
Before celebrating Méi’s first month, Munn offered a glimpse of her own personal fertility journey.
While speaking at a panel during Hello Sunshine’s Shine Away event, the actress detailed her decision to freeze her eggs multiple times throughout her 30s and 40s — including a recent attempt to secure girl embryos.
Although she shared her breast cancer diagnosis in March, Munn said at the event that she never gave up on the possibility of having a baby girl in her family.
“I told John, ‘I won’t feel good until we get two more [embryos that are girls] so I need you to just be on my side and let me go through this. And I know I’m putting myself at risk, but I just have to do this,’” Munn explained of freezing her eggs again at 42 amid her cancer battle. “And he said, ‘I’ll support whatever you want to do.’ We got home that day and the doctor said, ‘I got the results back, and it’s the dream. You have two healthy baby girl embryos.’ And now we have Méi.”
