Olivia Nuzzi cries, asks to ‘pause’ emotional interview about alleged RFK Jr. affair

Olivia Nuzzi broke down during an emotional podcast interview about her alleged affair with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The political journalist started to cry while chatting with “Bulwark” host Tim Miller about her “American Canto” memoir in an episode released Tuesday.

“Can we pause this?” the 32-year-old asked.

The intense back and forth began when Miller, 43, called out the author for “not reveal[ing] the truth” about the Secretary of Health and Human Services after he allegedly “ghost[ed]” and “betrayed” her.

“There are more things I think you could reveal about him, I would assume, that you have chosen not to,” he said.

Nuzzi insisted she clearly “did” do so since Miller’s reaction to the book was: “I’m mad at him. Like, ‘F–k you, RFK. F–k you for how you treated Olivia.’”

She claimed Miller’s response tells her she gave readers “enough information” in the bombshell book, which has been panned as “aggressively awful” by critics, without “violating” herself.

Miller, however, continued, “He was trashing you. He’s being nominated to HHS Secretary. … You had information that you could have shared … and you didn’t share anything about him. Why? Did you still love him?”

Nuzzi replied that she didn’t “know how to responsibly handle this [conversation] on camera.”

The political strategist continued to press her, pointing out, “You admit in the book that you’d acted to help him over the course of [his presidential] campaign. And so once you realized that he was screwing you over, you didn’t take any counteraction. You just let him walk over you. Do you see clearly 1764779629?”

Nuzzi called it a “correct assessment” that RFK Jr.’s “reign” as HHS “hasn’t been good” before saying, “I don’t know what to do with the question you are asking me. Because it is making a lot of assumptions. I write about what I did wrong.”

When Miller labeled the writer a “journalistic actor,” she began to cry.

“I lost my job,” she said, referencing how she was axed from New York Magazine after her alleged sexting relationship with the 71-year-old came to light in September 2023.

“I was fired and I was in hiding. I was afraid, I was terrified,” Nuzzi continued. “I was terrified of a man [ex-fiancé Ryan Lizza] I did not marry. I was very worried about people knowing where I was. Can we pause this?”

The duo “took a beat,” according to Miller, and did ultimately continue the interview to discuss how “scared” and “vulnerable” Nuzzi felt when the scandal went viral.

She defended not coming out “guns blazing” in her memoir but pointed out that “writing about this at all” had been a “risk.”

The host apologized, saying, “I’m sorry. It’s because of the stakes of what we’re talking about that I’m sticking with this [line of questioning]. That’s why.”

RFK Jr. was married to Cheryl Hines during his alleged dalliance with Nuzzi — and still is, with the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” alum shading Nuzzi in a “Katie Miller Podcast” interview last month.

“You always have to consider the source, right?” the actress, 60, asked listeners. “I don’t know this person. Don’t know their intentions. I could guess, but I won’t. But you can if you want.”

Her husband, for his part, denied the alleged cheating last year, with his rep claiming, “Mr. Kennedy only met Olivia Nuzzi once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece.”

We hear Nuzzi is already out at Vanity Fair, after being appointed the outlet’s West Coast Editor in September.
