- The reactions prompted mixed emotions and creative critique from each of them
Patrick Mahomes is talented on the football field, but can he say the same about the field of art?
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback tried his hand at painting his wife Brittany Mahomes during an artsy date, where the married couple attempted to paint lookalike portraits of each other in a video shared on Friday, Nov. 14 for their partnership with CommunityAmerica Credit Union.
“You ready?” Brittany asked Patrick, both 30, before unveiling her canvas, which featured a brush-stroked version of the Chiefs star that incorporated his signature curls and facial hair, and showed him wearing a striped, blue collared shirt.
Patrick, who confirmed “I’m ready!” for the unveiling, grabbed the painting from Brittany and excitedly flipped it around.
“Yeah, that’s pretty good,” he apprehensively voiced, nodding his head up and down while analyzing Brittany’s composition, as she rattled off the painted facial features that made her most proud.
“The hair’s probably the best part,” he shared, ultimately confirming that she did “a pretty good job.” He added with a laugh, “Yeah, it looks just like me!”
Then, it was Patrick’s turn to reveal his portrait of Brittany — however, he introduced it with a warning.
“You gotta know that I’m not the best painter in the world, so don’t judge me on this,” he said as he handed it over.
Upon nervously flipping around the canvas, the mom of three — who shares Sterling Skye, 4, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon III, 2 and Golden Raye, 9, months with Patrick — looked visibly taken aback and laughed, “Oh my gosh!”

“I think I did a pretty good job!” the QB instantly said, in defense to her reaction.
“The teeth? You made my teeth black? Like, do I need to brush my teeth?” Brittany jokingly questioned, referencing the ultra-thick paint her husband used for the details in her mouth.
Patrick, though, was particularly impressed with the eyelashes he gave Brittany in the portrait.
“That’s a little excessive!” she replied, before showing her daughter the painting and asking her if she could tell who it was, emphasizing, “Daddy drew that!”
Patrick and Brittany’s painting party went viral during the Chiefs’ bye week, before the team’s return against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Nov. 16.
The Chiefs ultimately lost 22-19, putting their record at a disappointing 5-5 for the season.
Next, the Chiefs take on the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Nov. 23.
