Peloton’s Jess King speaks out on shocking exits from instructors Kendall Toole, Ross Rayburn and Kristin McGee

CANNES — Jess King has addressed the shocking departures of Peloton’s Kendall Toole, Ross Rayburn and Kristin McGee.
“I love my teammates. Everyone has their own reasons and unique experiences for how they navigate the Peloton landscape and their careers and professionally. … There have never been any bad apples,” King told Page Six exclusively at Stagwell Sport Beach on Wednesday during the Cannes Lions festival.
“I’m so sad to see my teammates go. I love them deeply, but in the same way I’m not concerned that they’re not in my life anymore,” the multi-hyphenate continued.
“Personally, I wish them so so well. They will be deeply missed on my team, and I know our community is grieving.”
Peloton announced last week that the three instructors had chosen to leave during the company’s “most recent round of contract negotiations.”
“Our door will always be open to them, so this is not a final goodbye, but rather, we hope to see them later,” the company said in a statement.
King, 39, who has been with the fitness organization for a decade, will remain with Peloton as she pursues endeavors outside of her beloved spin classes.
The “So You Think You Can Dance” alum announced this week that she’s launching a new website, “On the Record,” in partnership with Kargo’s Fabrik content management. King’s project will feature content from both her and a group of diverse contributors that will discuss wellness, parenting and music.
“I’m so excited. My whole life I’ve always been journaling. I’ve always been blogging my stories and my experiences, and more importantly, the lessons and things that I’ve learned from the crazy life experiences that I’ve lived,” King shared with us.
The famed dancer, who identifies as queer, is hoping to use “On the Record” to amplify her voice and create a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community.
“These are all places where we can come together where we have residence. Where we also have hardship and a lot of shared experiences and talk about them,” she told us.
“I’m hoping to provide a lot of value. I’m hoping to provide a place for myself, for my community and also other writers. … I want to give back.”
