Pete Davidson gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to ‘Bupkis’ staff after show’s cancellation: report

Nothing says sorry like a big pile of cash.

After Pete Davidson’s exit from “Bupkis” led to the TV series’ cancellation, the “Saturday Night Live” alum reportedly handed out cash prizes to some creators who worked on the show, according to TMZ.

The “Meet Cute” star handed “hundreds of thousands” of dollars to the creators who worked on Season 1, according to insiders who further said he did so as a way of thanking them for all their hard work.

The 30-year-old comedian “gave the money to just a handful of people” who were “involved with Season 1, but who weren’t necessarily working on the now-dead second season,” one source added.

Davidson’s reps did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Davidson walked away from the Peacock show — a half-hour semi-autobiographical comedy about his life — last month. The sitcom, which costarred Edie Falco and Joe Pesci over the eight episode-debut, was renewed for a second season in June 2023, several months before Davidson’s exit.

However, once Davidson announced he was leaving, the streaming service pulled the plug on the show altogether.

“I’ve always seen ‘Bupkis’ as a window into my life, since it is so personal and about my struggles and family,” Davidson told Variety when confirming his exit in March.

“After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media I wanted a chance to tell my story my way. Of all the work I’ve ever done, ‘Bupkis’ is by far what I’m most proud of.”

Davidson also expressed his gratitude “to Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video, Peacock, Universal Television and the amazing cast and writers for helping me create something honest, funny and heartfelt.”

“I do also feel that this part of my life is finished,” the “King Of Staten Island” star continued.

“I’m very excited for this next chapter and for you guys to see the work. Thank you to all who support me for I am forever grateful.”

Davidson will soon star alongside Eddie Murphy in “a new huge Blockbuster,” according to TMZ’s sources. Previously, he appeared in movies like “Dumb Money” and “Bodies Bodies Bodies.”
