Pete Davidson weighs in on ‘f–ked up’ body scrutiny surrounding ex Ariana Grande

Pete Davidson railed against “f–ked up” body scrutiny surrounding his ex-fiancée, Ariana Grande, in a new interview — but insisted the singer “knows how to handle this stuff.”

The comedian, 32, predicted to Variety, in a profile published Wednesday, that Grande, 33, “will be OK” despite the rampant chatter online.

The songwriter, notably, announced via her rep in August that she would be “taking a step back from visibility” due to “endless, ongoing” concern about her weight.

“I don’t like it at all,” Davidson, who had a whirlwind romance with Grande in 2018, said Wednesday of the gossip that led to the “Victorious” alum’s decision.

“It’s not cool,” he continued. “She’s a really strong person — I’ve witnessed it — and I don’t understand it. She knows how to handle this stuff though. She’s been around. So she’ll be OK, but I think it’s fucked up.”

Grande’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The Grammy winner spoke last month about how online “negativity is ruining things for” her in a four-minute speech delivered to “Eternal Sunshine” tour attendees in Chicago.

However, she told fans, “No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will be able to distort my reality or be more real to me … as this love that we share.”

Since wrapping the tour on Sept. 1, Page Six hears Grande has been “laying low” in Los Angeles and “enjoying her downtime” with boyfriend Ricky Alvarez.

The couple first dated between 2015 to 2016, reconciling earlier this year.

In their years apart, Grande married and divorced Dalton Gomez, had an on-set romance with Ethan Slater — and was briefly engaged to Davidson.

The “Saturday Night Live” alum proposed mere weeks into their relationship in the summer of 2018, with the duo calling it quits that October.

Grande has since referenced Davidson in multiple songs, from “Thank U, Next” to “Pete Davidson.”

She made a rare comment about the “King of Staten Island” star in 2019, calling him an “amazing distraction” who was “frivolous and fun … and highly unrealistic.”

Davidson, for his part, clapped back at her “insane” depiction of their time together during a 2022 standup special.

In Wednesday’s Variety interview, the “Meet Cute” star ultimately dubbed his ex an “awesome girl” who is “f–king cool” and “immensely talented.”

As for where they stand, Davidson clarified, “We’re not texting or whatever, but we’re cool.”

Elsewhere in the sitdown, he spoke about becoming a father to daughter Scottie with ex Elsie Hewitt, as well as his recent rehab stints.

Before his stay, the now-sober “Guy Code” alum revealed, his “scary” daily drug cocktail included “getting liquid [ketamine] and cooking it,” as well as “acid and shrooms and whippets and … weed all day and eat[ing] pills.”
