Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s reunion with King Charles ‘wasn’t entirely warm and fuzzy’

The royal family reunion may not have gone as planned for Meghan Markle.

“One gets the sense that, from Meghan’s perspective, the reunion with Charles and Camilla wasn’t entirely warm and fuzzy,” royal author Christopher Andersen told Page Six earlier this week.

However, a palace source questioned how Andersen would be privy to what had been a “private family-only meeting.”

Earlier this month, Prince Harry, 41, and Meghan Markle, 44, along with their children — Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5 — reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla for the first time in four years and the first since the monarch’s announcement that he has cancer.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that the reunion took place at Highgrove House, the monarch’s private country residence in Gloucestershire, England. Photos of the meeting are not expected to be released.

The last time Charles, 77, reunited with his grandkids was in 2022, when they attended Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

The visit has not been without hiccups.

Page Six exclusively reported that the Sussexes were denied taxpayer-funded security and that Buckingham Palace withdrew its offer to let the couple stay at the royal residence, leaving Harry by himself for most of the trip.

A source told People that the jaunt “turned into a nightmare” for Markle as she was forced to leave earlier than planned with the children.

Prince Harry has gone to court numerous times in an attempt to gain security for his family when they visit the UK, but has been denied repeatedly.

Andersen, whose most recent book is called “Kate!: The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen,” claims that “it’s fairly clear that Markle feels more secure in [her home] in Montecito, and doesn’t want to give the impression that she will be any part of a return to royal life.”

Page Six exclusively reported that Prince Harry was overheard telling guests at the TIME 100 Sports Gala that Markle and the children are “happy” to be home in California after their brief visit to the UK.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were leaving their senior royal positions in 2020 and have since settled in California, where they have embarked on a number of ventures including podcasts, Netflix series and a homewares line.

Neither a spokesperson for the Sussexes nor Buckingham Palace replied to Page Six when asked for comment.
