Prince Jackson Announces Engagement to Longtime Girlfriend Molly: ‘8 Years Down’

Prince Jackson is engaged!

The eldest of Michael Jackson’s three children announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend Molly on Tuesday, Aug. 26. 

In a sweet social media post with a carousel of images set to his late father’s 1987 single, “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You,” the 28-year-old identified his bride-to-be only as Molly, but acknowledged the couple’s eight-year relationship in his caption. 

“8 years down ♾️ to go. Molly and I have spent a lot of time together and made incredible memories,” he wrote.

Their first picture showed Prince and Molly wearing coordinating white and cream outfits as they kissed in a park. 

Other images captured the couple’s sweetest moments throughout their eight years together, including the pair posing with Prince’s paternal grandmother, Katherine Jackson.

Molly was also present for Prince’s college graduation.

“We’ve traveled the world, graduated and grown so much together. I’m excited for this next chapter in our lives as we continue to grow and make great memories. I love you babs,” his caption concluded, with a blowing kiss emoji.

Prince’s cousin, Taryll Jackson, the son of the late Tito Jackson, shared his happiness in the comments, writing, “😊💙🙏🏽 Congrats!!!”

On March 13, 2018, Prince posted Molly on his social media for the first time in honor of the couple’s one-year anniversary. 

“I had such an amazing time in San Fran celebrating our year together,” he captioned an Instagram post at the time.

The one-photo upload was a selfie of the two outdoors, smiling at what appeared to be a trail overlooking a body of water in California on a sunny day. 

His sister Paris Jackson seemingly gave the two her stamp of approval, commenting, “warms my heart to see how much joy you two bring each other. happy anniversary love y’all.”

Later that year, Prince opened up about his relationship with Molly at the Dee Dee Jackson Foundation‘s 3rd Annual DDJF Costume for a Cause event in October, where he shared how she balances him out. 

“I think in everything there’s an important balance,” he told PEOPLE exclusively. “I think that I’m a certain way, and she’s very — I don’t want to say opposite — but complementary in a way that we balance each other out. I’m more aggressive, she’s a little softer.”

While not revealing her name during the 2018 interview, Prince added that she “encourages” him to “see things through a different light” and vice versa. “It helps us stay well-rounded.”
