Rip, Beth’s ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff ‘Dutton Ranch’ gets first trailer — and a premiere date
Back to the train station.
Paramount has finally released the first trailer for the “Yellowstone” spinoff show “Dutton Ranch,” following the antics of Beth (Kelly Reilly) and her husband, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser). The show will premiere May 15.
The series follows the couple after the events of Taylor Sheridan’s hit ranch drama, “Yellowstone,” which ended with Rip and Beth moving from their Montana home to a new ranch in Texas.
The “Dutton Ranch” trailer shows a dead body getting dragged, Rip looking concerned, and Beth greeting cops with a gun in her hand.
It also reveals a glimpse of new additions to the “Yellowstone” world, Ed Harris and Annette Bening.
Rip is also shown punching someone, there’s a fire, and Beth says, “a legacy is a beautiful thing, but only if it survives.”
Text onscreen proclaims, “A new Yellowstone series begins.”
All in all, it looks like “Dutton Ranch” will be filled with the same action and danger as the original series.
Created by Taylor Sheridan, “Yellowstone” aired on Paramount from 2018 to 2024, followed Rip and Beth, along with Beth’s now deceased father, John (Kevin Costner), and her brothers Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Kayce (Luke Grimes).
It was ostensibly about a family of ranchers, but it leaned more towards being cowboy “The Sopranos.” The show had so much murder that the characters even had a slang term for it – killing someone was taking them to “the train station.”
John got killed in the middle of Season 5, amid rumors of a behind-the-scenes alleged feud between Costner and Sheridan. After Jamie betrayed the family, Beth killed him at the end of “Yellowstone.”
Meanwhile, Kayce is on his own spinoff show, “Marshals” on CBS (which has already been renewed for a Season 2).
Initially, Hauser said the title of his spinoff wasn’t “Dutton Ranch,” telling Fox News in May, “Well, first of all, it’s not ‘Dutton Ranch.’ That’s not the name of it.”
On March 13, Paramount officially confirmed that was the title.
“Dutton Ranch” premieres May 15 on Paramount+.
