Robert Irwin is having a fanboy moment.
The 21-year-old conservationist shared a video on his social media on Friday, Oct. 24, capturing his reaction when he received a special delivery in the middle of Dancing with the Stars practice. In the clip, his partner Witney Carson walked in holding a large bouquet of flowers addressed to Irwin.
“Who are these from?” he asks. “Oh my goodness, they’re gorgeous.”
Carson, 32, joked, “Do you have a secret admirer that I don’t know about?”
As Irwin opened a card to learn the sender’s identity, his jaw dropped open and he jumped up and down. “It’s from Jonathan Bailey,” he exclaimed.
“Stop!” Carson replied, to which Irwin declared, “No, seriously!”
He then read aloud the note: “You are the shiz, Robert. You’ve done all the Fiyeros proud. Cheering you on from afar. Big love, JB.”
Bailey’s sweet gesture comes after Irwin and Carson performed a jazz routine to “Dancing Through Life” for DWTS’s Wicked-themed night on Oct. 21. For the dance, Irwin dressed as Prince Fiyero, who Bailey plays in the 2024 Wicked film and upcoming sequel, Wicked: For Good.
“This has made my day! Thank you so much, Jonathan!” Irwin said, grinning ear-to-ear.
The camera then cut to him walking around the studio with the bouquet in his arms.
“You wanna put those down so we can rehearse or are you just gonna…” Carson quipped before Irwin shouted, “No,” and the video came to an end.
“Thank you so much @jbayleaf 💐,” the caption read. “What a cool surprise, it was an honour to play Fiyero for the night!”
Fans in the comments were just as starstruck as Irwin, with one writing, “I too would react like this if Jonathan Bailey sent me flowers.”
“🤣 I love this so much! 😍 The “no” at the end had me LOLing! 😝” joked another.
In the intro package ahead of the performance earlier this week, Irwin revealed that he is such a big Wicked fan that he rented out a theater to watch the film for his 21st birthday.
After the dance, Carrie Ann told him that “Dancing Through Life” “needs to be your theme song,” while Bruno called the performance a “joyful, theatrical treat.”
The pair scored nines across the board, ending the night with a 36/40.
