RuPaul’s Drag Race Star Bosco Gets Engaged to Longtime Partner in Surprise Onstage Proposal

Bosco and her longtime partner, Blake, had the whole crowd gagging.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race star, 32, got engaged on Saturday, Oct. 18, after her partner of nearly six years popped the question onstage at her GrindHaus show at The Crocodile in Seattle. 

“💍Love you forever, Blake,” Bosco wrote on Instagram, alongside a carousel of photos from the big night, including one in which she showed off her new bling while pouring a glass of champagne and another of herself celebrating with her All Stars 10 costar Irene the Alien. 

Soon after, Blake also celebrated the couple’s next chapter on social media by writing on his Instagram Stories, “Get to spend forever with my best friend❤️‍🔥💍.”

Upon sharing the big news, Bosco’s fellow reality stars celebrated her and Blake’s love in the comments. “Congrats sis,” Angeria Paris VanMichaels wrote, while Daya Betty added, “I’m so happy for you two.”

Traitors star Gabby Windey also commented, “OMG congratulations😭😭.”

As for how the proposal went down? As seen in videos shared on social media, Blake got in front of the crowd and began a heartwarming speech as the crowd cheered them on. 

“Our story started six years ago at a queer bar, and it was me being a timid boy on the side of the stage,” he said while memories of the pair flashed on the screen behind them. “We looked very different back then. The following years brought a lot of the hard stuff, starting with me completely fumbling when you asked me to be your boyfriend.”

Blake continued, “And then we went into me finishing college, pandemic, mom dying, and then reality TV. And with all that, I got the best friend I could ever ask for, the best partner I could ever ask for. I feel like it became full circle tonight to ask you to spend the rest of your life with me.”

As the crowd erupted in applause, the words “Will You Marry Me,” appeared on the screen behind the couple while Blake got down on one knee. In response, Bosco immediately got out of her chair, nodded her head yes, and shared a sweet kiss with her new fiancé.  

The drag performer shot to fame as a finalist on Drag Race season 14 in 2022 before returning to All Stars 10 earlier this year. Following her appearance on Drag Race, she came out as a transgender woman in February 2022. 

“I’m trans, my pronouns out of drag are she/they. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” Bosco wrote on social media at the time. “After filming wrapped this summer, I began focusing on figuring out what medical transitioning would look like for me. I started HRT [hormone replacement therapy] after getting back from Drag Race. I also plan to start exploring some surgical options in the near future.”

She continued, “This is something that’s been on my mind for over a decade now. I’ve spent my adult life working in the food industry and have never felt financially secure enough to start this process. Honestly, I was also just flat out terrified of how I’d be treated. I still am.”
