Savannah Guthrie posts touching Mother’s Day tribute as mom Nancy remains missing
Savannah Guthrie posted a Mother’s Day tribute to her mom Nancy Guthrie, as the investigation into the 84-year-old’s disappearance continues.
Taking to her Instagram Stories Sunday, Savannah shared a reel of touching moments with Nancy, along with family members including her grandchildren and Savannah’s siblings.
“Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie,” Savannah captioned the reel. “We miss you with every breath. We will never stop looking for you. We will never be at peace until we find you.”
Savannah added, “We need help. Someone knows something that can make the difference. Call 1800CALLFBI. You can be anonymous and the reward remains available.”
“Please keep praying. Bring her home.”
It’s a bittersweet day as Savannah is a mother herself to kids Vale, 11, and Charley, 9, whom she shares with husband Michael Feldman.
The search for Nancy hit its 90th day on Friday, as the matriarch was last seen on Jan. 31. Police believe she was kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona, home.
Doorbell camera footage was later recovered that featured a masked man lurking outside of Nancy’s house the night she was believed to be taken.
In the weeks after Nancy’s disappearance, the Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, has been highly criticized for clearing Nancy’s home as a crime scene too quickly and using a private DNA firm instead of utilizing the FBI.
Nanos has also been accused of failing to use key resources like cadaver dogs in his search.
Earlier this week, FBI Director Kash Patel called out the Arizona sheriff for bungling DNA evidence and shutting out the federal agency.
“For four days we were kept out of the investigation,” he told Fox News’ Sean Hannity on “Hang Out with Sean Hannity.”
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has denied Patel’s claims, telling The Post that Nanos began working with the FBI “without delay.”
Now, the FBI is using new technology to perform an advanced analysis on the DNA sample they collected from Nancy’s house.
Since her disappearance, multiple purported ransom notes have been reported, with several being sent to TMZ.
After the notes were received, Savannah made multiple social media videos alongside her sister Annie and brother Camron, pleading for anyone with any information to come forward.
Earlier this week, a prowler wearing a mask and gloves was spotted in Nancy’s neighborhood.
However, police have not identified any suspects in the months since she vanished.
Meanwhile, Savannah’s Mother’s Day post comes on the heels of the TV star suddenly leaving the “Today” show on Wednesday.
At the time, Savannah abruptly left halfway through the day, before coming back on Thursday morning and introducing the day’s news without addressing her sudden exit.
The anchor previously took a two month hiatus from the “Today” show before returning on April 6.
Prior to coming back, Savannah sat down for a two-part interview with Hoda Kotb to discuss the painful ordeal.
“I just want to say, I’m so sorry, mommy,” Savannah said through tears.
“I’m so sorry,” she continued. “I’m sorry to my sister and my brother and my kids and my nephew and Tommy, my brother-in-law, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry if it’s me, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.”
