Selena Gomez’s mother-in-law hid from masked burglars during terrifying home invasion
Selena Gomez’s mother-in-law, Sandra Levin, was forced to hide from masked burglars who broke into her Los Angeles home Monday night.
Levin, whose son is Benny Blanco, ran upstairs and locked herself in a bathroom after two burglars in dark clothing entered her Studio City estate through a side door around 9:30 p.m., NBC4 reported.
The Los Angeles Police Department told the outlet that the homeowner looked out the bathroom door after hearing the suspects go upstairs.
The burglars saw Levin and became alarmed that someone was home.
Page Six confirmed that the suspects triggered the alarm system but fled the scene before police arrived.
It’s unclear if the suspects were armed.
Footage obtained by KTLA5 showed officers opening the shattered sliding door the burglars entered, with glass remains falling to the ground.
Reps for Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Sandra was previously married to the music producer’s father, Andrew Levine. The exes are also parents to son Jeremy.
During an interview with InStyle in June, Blanco shared how his mom gave him relationship advice while navigating the dating scene.
“My mom always took the time to explain how a female mind works because she was going through so many dating traumas when I was growing up,” he explained.
The music producer also stated that Sandra’s passion for art and music fueled his own creativity and happiness.
“I’ve had some tough times, but I’ve always been like a very happy person. I just wake up stoked every day,” Blanco said.
The businessman has previously gushed over his close relationship with Levin, telling People in November 2024, “My mom’s my best friend.”
“Every Sunday we go to the farmer’s market. I cook her lunch, we swim, we gossip about stuff,” he said.
“She sends me things and is like, ‘Do you think it’s true?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t even know who these two people are we’re talking about.’”
Blanco also shared how Levin “loves flowers” and every year on Mother’s Day, he buys her a new orchid, explaining that the matriarch takes good care of them and once had a room with 25 of them because “they would never die.”
