‘Sex and the City’ alum Jason Lewis resurfaces after 3 years
“Sex and the City” alum Jason Lewis resurfaced in a new video after spending over three years out of the public eye.
The actor shared an Instagram clip Wednesday, showing him walking on the beach and giving his followers a cryptic explanation of why it “was time” to finally re-emerge.
“I went quiet,” Lewis stated. “Not because I have nothing to say, but because I had something to do.”
The 54-year-old continued, “The kind of creative work that doesn’t leave room for much else, and I made my peace with that. It’s the kind of work that needs to find its people, though.”
Lewis, who didn’t clarify what the project is, said he’s “still in it” but is “far enough along now that it felt like it was time to resurface and share what I’ve been doing.”
In his caption, Lewis wrote, “After three years, it was time.”
Lewis was last seen publicly in late 2022 when he competed on “Dancing with the Stars” Season 31. He was partnered with Peta Murgatroyd and they were the first couple eliminated.
At the time, Lewis said his fianceé, actress Liz Godwin, convinced him to go on the ABC competition show after years of turning it down.
“This year, when the offer came in, my fianceé asked me to be a little less pigheaded and at least take a look at a show,” he told People, revealing he was “awestruck” when the couple watched an episode together.
Lewis added of the show, “It is incredibly beautifully done. The dancers are so talented.”
After his elimination, Lewis called his time on the reality show “challenging” and “a little scary.”
“This is an incredible group of people,” he told TV Insider. “I’ve been very grateful to be a part of this.”
Lewis famously played Samantha Jones’ (Kim Cattrall) young male model beau Smith Jerrod on “Sex and the City” from 2003 to 2004. He also appeared in the 2008 “SATC” film and its 2010 sequel.
The actor was not asked back for the sequel series “And Just Like That.”
“I would be the last to know!” Lewis told the Daily Front Row before the show’s premiere in 2021.
“As much as I appreciate the flattery, the conversation is about the girls,” he added.
Lewis’ last acting role was in the NBC supernatural series “Midnight, Texas” in 2018.
