Shania Twain reveals the secret to 15-year marriage with Frédéric Thiébaud

Shania Twain pulled back the curtain on her 15-year marriage with Frédéric Thiébaud, revealing that the secret to their relationship is open communication.

“He’s really good at reminding both of us that we have to keep communication open,” the country superstar told People in an interview published Thursday.

“He’s the greatest talker,” she gushed, “and he’s not inhibited at all with expressing his feelings, which is really wonderful in a man.”

“If you have a man that is really open and wants to keep the communication open, you’re blessed as a woman,” Twain, 60, added.

The “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” songstress shared how she’s the type to “meditate over the issue, take a walk or be alone with [her] guitar if [she’s] having a marital issue.”

Thiébaud, 55, however, wants to immediately work through the issue rather than allowing time to pass.

“And that’s the best advice. I mean, he’s not wrong,” Twain said.

The “You’re Still the One” singer gushed over the Swiss businessman, labeling their marriage as the “forever true love.”

“This is the love I’m going to grow old with,” she told the outlet, stating that “it’s a beautiful feeling.”

Twain and Thiébaud’s romance story dates back to 2009, when they started dating after the pop star’s then-husband, Robert John “Mutt” Lange, had an affair with Thiébaud’s ex-wife, Marie-Anne.

The “Any Man of Mine” singer and Lange tied the knot in 1993 and separated in 2008. The exes share a 24-year-old son, Eja.

However, Twain insisted that if she had met Thiébaud as a teenager, he still would’ve been her “lifelong love even from then.”

“It just takes sometimes years to find that person,” she said.

The couple got engaged in December 2010 and rushed to the altar, as they were married on New Year’s Day 2011.

Twain and Thiébaud hosted their wedding ceremony in Rincon, Puerto Rico.
