Shia LaBeouf finally charged for Mardi Gras bar brawl 3 months after New Orleans arrest: report
Shia LaBeouf has been formally charged in connection with an alleged altercation that took place during Mardi Gras in New Orleans in February.
According to WWL Louisiana, Thursday court records show that the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office charged the “Even Stevens” alum, 39, with three counts of simple battery.
The misdemeanor charges come months after NOPD officers were called to New Orleans party spot R Bar, a little before 1 a.m. on Feb. 17.
Staff claimed that the “Transformers” actor had become combative as the night went on.
LaBeouf — who had reportedly been partying in the Big Easy all weekend — allegedly refused to leave and became increasingly aggressive when the bar manager tried to remove him.
According to investigators, several people physically restrained the movie star until officers arrived on the scene.
Footage from the altercation showed the “Fury” actor using gay slurs before head-butting one of the men involved.
Per the police report, one patron suffered a potentially dislocated nose during the fight, despite telling LaBeouf that he didn’t want to fight him.
A bartender from another establishment, who remained anonymous, told the outlet that the Disney Channel alum was “terrorizing the city.”
TMZ later obtained footage of LaBeouf, shirtless, and receiving treatment from paramedics after the alleged altercation.
The “Holes” star appeared in court on Feb. 26 and was released on $100,000 bond.
He was also seen mocking his own arrest by putting the jail paperwork into his mouth and dancing around.
After being released, LaBeouf was seen in photos obtained by Page Six attempting to go into a church and jogging.
The “Peanut Butter Falcon” star then sat down for an interview with Andrew Callaghan’s Channel 5 to explain what happened.
“I’ll be honest with you, big gay people are scary to me,” he expressed during the discussion.
“When I’m like standing by myself and three gays are next to me, touching my leg, I get scared. I’m sorry. If that’s homophobic, then I’m that. Yeah.”
LaBeouf admitted that he was “wrong for touching anyone. Ever. And that’s the end of my statement on this whole s—t.”
He did add, “I was drunk and it’s Mardi Gras. So, everything I’m saying is nonsense.”
LaBeouf, meanwhile, quietly split from wife Mia Goth — with whom he shares 3-year-old daughter Isabel — over a year ago.
A rep for the actor did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
