Sombr’s prank call to Selena Gomez turns weird when Benny Blanco answers the phone

Don’t call her when you break up.

Benny Blanco busted up Sombr’s onstage prank call to Selena Gomez during his Monday night concert, turning the singer’s “Call Your Ex” segment into an awkward moment.

“I’m going to be calling my ex instead of you guys calling your ex,” Sombr said, before instructing the crowd to not yell, according to video from the show shared via X.

Soon after he made the call, a voice picked up but the artist quickly realized it wasn’t the Disney Channel alum, 33, he intended to reach.

“Hello? Selena?” he asked into the phone, holding the speaker up to the microphone.

When a deep voice on the other end appeared to ask “Who’s this?” Sombr, 20, then switched up his playful tone to respond with, “Is this Benny Blanco?”

The “Back to Friends” hitmaker attempted to play things off with Blanco — who didn’t appear to be in a joking mood — before he rushed off the phone, telling the producer that he was “trying to call your wife.”

Gomez tied the knot with Blanco, 38, in an intimate Old Hollywood-esque ceremony held in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Sept. 27.

The “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum shared the happy news to her Instagram with a collection of photos taken by photographer Petra Collins shortly after the couple exchanged “I dos.”

The snapshots showed Gomez walked down the aisle in a custom hand-draped halter-neck satin dress from Ralph Lauren with embroidery, while Blanco wore a classic black tuxedo and bowtie.

Several famous guests including Gomez’s close friend Taylor Swift, and her “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars Martin Short, Steve Martin and Paul Rudd, were in attendance for the couple’s nuptials.

Soon after the wedding, the “I Said I Love You First” hitmakers reportedly hit the road for their roadtrip honeymoon.

An insider previously gave fans some insight on the “perfect” getaway earlier this month, telling People that the couple “loved” the romantic vacation.

“They celebrated for days during their wedding and was on such a high. They really enjoyed slowing down, going on a road trip to explore and relax. They drove up the Cali coast and also visited Texas,” the insider added.
