‘Summer House’ Star Carl Radke Reveals His Actual 1st Name: ‘It’s a Family Thing’

Summer House star Carl Radke has revealed his legal first name.

“My middle name is Carl. We always, for whatever reason, as a family went by [our] middle names,” Radke, 40, said in a Friday, August 8, TikTok video shared by Popviewers. “My brother even went by his middle name, but on my ID and my passport, my first name is William.”

Radke, whose brother Curtis died in 2020, further revealed that he has “always” been known as Carl.

“Since Day 1, [I] have been called Carl,” the Bravo star said. “It’s a family thing. My mom has a different explanation for it, which I don’t understand. Yeah, my full name is William Carl.”

Radke rose to fame on Bravo’s Summer House, of which he’s been a staple since season 1. He’s set to return for its upcoming tenth season, which is currently filming.

“I look forward to spending the summer in the Hamptons with my friends,” Radke told Us Weekly in a June statement. “I will very much be a part of season 10!”

On Summer House, Radke and a group of his New York-based pals rent a shared vacation home in the Hamptons for the summer. The show brought Radke and his ex-fiancée, Lindsay Hubbard, together, who is also set to return to the series — in some capacity — after welcoming a baby between seasons 9 and 10. (Hubbard, 38, shares daughter Gemma with Turner Kufe.)

For Radke, Hubbard’s pregnancy was “100 percent” closure for their past relationship.

“At first, hearing it was like, ‘OK, wow, she’s really moved on.’ Not that I was expecting the door to be kept open for me,” the Soft Bar founder exclusively told Us in February. “You almost envision it’s going to be some time [before your ex moves on].”

Radke further recalled one of his friend’s advice about moving on.

“[He said], ‘This is some of the best information you could have. It’s really good closure, be happy for her,’ which I was,” Radke said. “I am glad I actually had that closure because it actually allowed, I think, both of us to move on. If anything after that kind of awkwardness in the kitchen, we were just cool and cordial.”

Hubbard and Kufe split sometime after Gemma’s birth and are now focused on coparenting. She’s since revealed that she and Kufe have had “a lot of conversations” about whether Gemma can film Summer House scenes with her.
