Tallulah Willis is sharing why she offered a rare glimpse into family time with her dad, Bruce Willis.

On Sunday, June 22, Tallulah, 31, posted Instagram photos of their family visiting her grandmother’s home.

“Sunday funday at Grams ! Grateful 🕊️,” she wrote in the caption. The post featured photos of Tallulah embracing her dad, as well as Bruce and Tallulah’s fiancé Justin Acee, posing for a joyful photo together.

The designer later shared the meaningful reason for posting the images with her beloved dad. “As a family we use our discretion when posting. Today was a great day filled with smiles. I made the judgement call to show that to the world, because I know what he means to everyone,” Tallulah wrote in the comment section of her post.

The post was also met with kind words from fans of the family. One social media user commented, “I love when you post photos making memories with your dad. I was my mother’s caregiver and she passed way in April from dementia and I cherish the memories I made with her, during hospice, forever ❤️.”

Another wrote, “As a dad I’m telling you that the hug you gave him was priceless. ❤️.”

In February 2023, Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, announced he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

His wife, Emma Heming Willis, 47, wrote in a statement at the time, “Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis,” Heming Willis wrote. “In the spirit of that, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing.”

“Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD),” she continued. “Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”

A year prior, his family shared that Bruce was “stepping away from acting” after being diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder that was “impacting his cognitive abilities.”
