Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding vows offered guests a ‘closer look into their love,’ Maren Morris says
Country singer Maren Morris gushed over Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s “beautiful” wedding vows while shedding more light on their star-studded nuptials.
“It just felt like you really got a closer look into their love for each other and their sense of humor,” the “Chasing After You” songstress told People in an interview published Saturday.
“Being one of 1,000 people that witnessed that, it was an honor,” she added, sharing that her favorite part of the day was “just celebrating their love for each other.”
Morris, 36, has been a friend and collaborator of Swift, 36, since at least 2018, when the latter invited her pal to perform Morris’ 2018 track “The Middle” on the Reputation Stadium Tour in Arlington, Texas.
The duo also collaborated on Swift’s 2021 track “You All Over Me” from her album “Fearless (Taylor’s Version).”
Additionally, the “Bones” songstress joined Swift on stage as a surprise guest at the Chicago Eras Tour stop in June 2023.
Morris, along with Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco and 1,000 other guests, attended the couple’s wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3.
Swift and Kelce, 36, exchanged vows that were about “20 minutes each” in front of their guests and their A-list officiant Adam Sandler, the outlet previously reported.
They read their vows from gold booklets and gifted spectators customized embroidered handkerchiefs with the ceremony details, in case any tears were shed.
“Taylor talked about how Travis was the guy in high school who, even though he was the star athlete, would go sit with the less-popular kids who were being bullied at lunchtime,” a source told People at the time.
“And Taylor talked about how she wished she knew someone like that when she was in high school. It was so special.”
Another insider claimed, “Travis was very emotional during the vows,” and a third source backed up the claim, telling NBC News, “You would think the bride would be the one crying more, but it was actually Travis that was more emotional.”
Swift, however, reportedly became emotional when the Kansas City Chiefs star “promised to protect her forever,” according to the Daily Mail.
Additionally, Kelce “was a puddle” while watching the Grammy winner walk down the aisle in a Dior wedding gown, sports commentator Joe Buck shared on the “Rates & Barrels” podcast last month.
“Good Morning America” co-host George Stephanopoulos, who was in attendance, shared on a broadcast that “the vows were everything you would hope for. Real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving.”
Co-host Robin Roberts chimed into the conversation, describing the 1,000-person wedding as “really intimate.”
“They had their neighbors [and] their high school friends [there] … like any wedding you would attend,” Roberts said.
Attendees have since been sharing details of the “legendary” night, from the emotional ceremony to the raffling of designer products.
Page Six previously reported that Swift and Kelce, who started dating in 2023, privately tied the knot ahead of their massive celebration.
