Teyana Taylor and Thom Browne are a match made in heaven.

The actress, 35, covers WWD Weekend’s September issue, and Page Six Style got an exclusive look at the accompanying interview and photo shoot. In the cover image, the “One Battle After Another” star is outfitted in a black-and-white beaded coat dress.

She stands behind Browne, sporting a short pixie cut dyed an almost silver platinum, with her gown’s comically long sleeves practically grazing the ground.

Browne, 60, sits in a chair wearing one of his iconic short suits.

“People from the outside would think we’re very different. But we’re so weirdly similar,” Browne says of the star while Taylor says, “I feel like I’m your spirit animal in a weird way; I’m like your extrovert and you’re like my introvert.”

She adds, “The heart, the genius, the person behind this work of art is very important for me. That’s why I ride for you the way I ride for you. I gotta love here before I can even love the design.”

The pair have been in partnership for years, with Taylor wearing the New York-based designer’s creations everywhere from the 2023 Met Gala to the 2026 SAG Actor Awards earlier this year.

At the latter, she made a huge splash in one of his most recent surrealist designs, a “naked” dress featuring trompe-l’oeil anatomy made from 160 pattern pieces that hugged her curves up top and descended into a sparkling skirt embroidered with 400,000 sequins and 175,000 beads.

She’s also sat front row at a few of his shows, with one in particular bringing Taylor to tears: the designer’s fall/winter 2022 collection. “The show was based on the Island of Misfit Toys, because I feel like we are so true to ourselves,” Browne recalls to WWD. “Sometimes we are very much on our own.”

“I feel like the way you put your imagination and your dreams on paper is really iconic to me,” Taylor declares. “That’s a fashion icon to me as someone that could put it on paper and bring it to reality, and then I just get to wear it.”
