The 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards brought out some of the biggest stars in TV.
The two-night event — which started on Saturday, September 6, and continues on Sunday, September 7 — is an annual celebration of artistic and technical achievements in a variety of television genres, including reality TV, drama, comedy and documentary programs. The big winners from the first night included Julie Andrews receiving her third Primetime Emmy Award, this time for voicing Lady Whistledown in Netflix’s hit period drama series Bridgerton.
Bryan Cranston and Julianne Nicholson took home the awards for Outstanding Guest Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series, for The Studio and Hacks, respectively. In the Outstanding Guest Acting in a Drama Series categories, Shawn Hatosy won for his appearance on The Pitt and Merritt Wever received the Guest Actress prize for Severance. Many of the reality TV awards will be handed out during Sunday’s ceremony, with Dancing With The Stars, American Idol, The Voice and RuPaul’s Drag Race all competing in multiple categories.
The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards follow the Creative Arts Emmys, airing on CBS and Paramount+ September 14 from the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.
