‘The Godfather III’ actor Anthony Guidera dead at 65
Anthony Guidera, best known for his role in “The Godfather III,” died on Saturday.
He was 65.
The actor has been on life support since collapsing in his Southern California residence in May, TMZ reported Tuesday.
His cause of death remains unknown.
Guidera is survived by wife Valarie, who told the outlet her late husband was hospitalized last month after his heart stopped.
To honor his previous wishes, Guidera was taken off of life support after three weeks and brought home, where he passed away over the weekend.
Valarie, who welcomed one son with Guidera during their time together, noted that doctors do not know what caused her partner’s sudden demise.
She shared a statement on Guidera’s passing via Facebook on Saturday, writing that she was “heartbroken to say goodbye.”
The upload read, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Anthony. We are devastated and trying to breathe through the impossible, taking each moment as it comes. Please hold this eternal light in your hearts and our family in your prayers.”
Guidera’s first acting role was in the third installment of “The Godfather” as a bodyguard named Anthony.
He went on to have roles in “The Rock,” “Armageddon” and more movies over the years.
