The Price Is Right Contestant Wins Car After Revealing She Lost Hers in an Accident

NEED TO KNOW
- The Price Is Right contestant Antoinette celebrated her birthday on the show just weeks after being in an accident that totaled her car
- Antoinette won a Hyundai Elantra SE playing the game “Pocket Change” after telling host Drew Carey about her accident
- “Well, let’s win this for you,” he told her
The price was right for one The Price Is Right contestant who really needed a victory on the show.
During an episode last week, contestant Antoinette came onstage to play the game “Pocket Change,” and she jumped for joy when announcer George Gray told her she was playing to win a 2025 Hyundai Elantra SE. Not only was the episode filmed on Antoinette’s birthday, but she had just lost her car days earlier.
“I was just in a car accident,” Antoinette could be heard telling host Drew Carey. “My car was just totaled.”
“Well, let’s win this for you,” Carey, 67, told her.
Winning the car wasn’t easy. “Pocket Change” required Antoinette to pick the right numbers that made up the retail cost of the Hyundai. If she picked the wrong number, the ‘cost’ of the car increased by a quarter. Each time she picked the correct number, she got to pick up an envelope from the board. If the envelopes included the change she needed to ‘pay’ for the car, she would win.

Antoinette managed to get the correct retail price for the Hyundai ($23,715, according to the show), but the ‘cost’ of the car was up to $1.25 because she chose a few of the wrong numbers along the way. This meant that her envelopes had to contain $1.25 or more.
As Carey opened the envelopes one by one, Antoinette told the comedian what happened to her car. It was totaled just a few weeks before the episode was filmed.
After Carey opened the first three envelopes, Antoinette only had $0.90! She needed that last envelope to push her over the line. Thankfully, it had $0.75, so she easily won the car with $1.65.
“Go get your new car!” Carey told Antoinette as she rushed to the Hyundai.
While Antoinette got the new car she needed, she didn’t get to add to her win total. She failed to make it to the final Showcase round at the end of the episode, per TV Insider.
The Price is Right airs at 11 a.m. ET on CBS.
