‘The View’ star Joy Behar reveals 25-pound weight loss with the use of GLP-1
Joy Behar has no shame about shedding weight with the help of a GLP-1.
The “View” co-host revealed she’s lost 25 pounds by taking weight-loss medication during Wednesday’s episode of the ABC talk show.
The conversation occurred when the co-hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and guest co-host Savannah Chrisley — discussed the use of GLP-1s, which include Ozempic and Mounjaro.
After Chrisley noted that she takes them because she’s pre-diabetic and that she’s lost 40 pounds as a result, Goldberg chimed in that she did it because she was previously almost 300 pounds. Goldberg proudly declared that she was “looking good now.”
Behar then shared, “I lost 25 pounds. We all did it!”
Behar, 83, didn’t note which drug she was taking.
Goldberg, 70, opened up about taking Mounjaro to Page Six back in March 2024.
She explained that the Type 2 diabetes medication was “the only way [doctors] could jumpstart [her] system,” adding that it made her “metabolism move” after being on steroids following back surgery.
Goldberg noticed her weight becoming an issue while promoting the 2022 movie “Till.”
“It was a lot of weight for me to be carrying, and I didn’t realize how much weight I was carrying,” she admitted. “I mean, I saw myself every day, but it didn’t look strange to me, and then I couldn’t breathe.”
Hostin, 57, also admitted to using Mounjaro during an episode of “The View” in March 2024, noting that she gained 40 pounds during COVID.
“There is shame when you’ve gained weight, and I have never experienced that kinda shame before,” she shared.
Hostin explained that she “wasn’t clinically obese” when she began taking Mounjaro, but she was “horrified” when she discovered her cholesterol was 200 –– which put her into the category of a “high” level.
“I used Mounjaro, and my cholesterol is 140. Now, I feel better, I think I look better, and that’s what this is about for people,” she said.
But not all celebrities have had a good experience with semaglutide.
Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, recently shared that she was “slammed with suicidal ideation and visions” as a side effect in December 2025.
“That was one of the darkest times of my life and it was scary,” she told People.
