The White Lotus Season 4 Location Reportedly Revealed

NEED TO KNOW
- The White Lotus has reportedly locked in its setting for its upcoming fourth season
- The series will once again be heading to a new locale for the next season
- Each season of the show is filmed at a real-life Four Seasons hotel, and France is home to three
Bonjour, France — The White Lotus has reportedly picked a setting for the upcoming fourth season of the anthology series!
Creator Mike White and streamer HBO has “zeroed in” on France as the location for season 4 of the murder mystery series, reports Deadline.
Although it has yet to be specified which French city season 4 would be set in, the series has worked with the Four Seasons hotel chain in the past. The company’s luxury resorts double as the fictional White Lotus chain in the TV show, and France is home to three Four Seasons: the well-known Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, located on the French Riviera; the Megève in the Alps; and the Hotel George V, located in Paris.
HBO did not comment when reached by PEOPLE.
The previous three seasons of the Emmy-winning anthology took place in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand.
White and HBO executives have played coy about the future settings of the beloved comedy-drama series in the past.
In an episode of Unpacking the Episode on HBO Max, White teased, “For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular. But there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”
Francesca Orsi, HBO’s head of drama, gave the biggest hint, previously telling Deadline in February, “I can’t really say where we’re going to land, but chances are somewhere in Europe.”

White’s anthology series has entranced viewers since its premiere in 2021. Each season follows a new group of wealthy vacationers as they rest and relax at one of the ritzy White Lotus resorts around the world.
Executive producer David Bernad, who also spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about choosing Thailand for season 3, recently told The Guardian that “Mike doesn’t like the cold.”
The latest season transported viewers to Thailand, where the latest batch of glamorous guests (played by Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Carrie Coon, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Walton Goggins and many more) encountered enlightenment, spirituality and death.
“I’ve dabbled in Buddhism, and Thailand worked for the themes that I was trying to get into,” White told The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the season 3 finale. “The show is about identity and desire — and then there’s another part of me, the mischievous gay part, that’s just like, ‘How do I create something that’s dirty and funny?’ “
As for more future locations, White has also teased that he’d like to make one season on every continent.
“My dream would be to hit every continent, so yeah, this is like its own continent basically,” he said at Sydney’s Vivid Festival in 2023. “We kind of have to come to Australia if we keep going… It would be so fun. Obviously, there’s a huge wealth of talent here and the beauty is inarguable, so it feels like it checks all the boxes.”
All three seasons of The White Lotus are currently streaming on HBO Max.
