Over the weekend, Holland, 29, and Sony Pictures shared a video from the set of his fourth Spider-Man film, taken on Holland’s first day of filming the anticipated sequel. In the video, Holland interacts with a number of young fans in Scotland as he films an action sequence involving a moving armored vehicle.
“Yeah, I feel good, man,” Holland says in a voiceover during the video, which shows him speaking with the movie’s director Dustin Daniel Cretton. At one point, Holland picks up a young child wearing a Spider-Man costume to pose with him for a photo.
“It’s day one — my fourth-ever day one on Spider-Man. You know, it’s funny. Putting the suit on, it feels different this time, somehow,” Holland says in the clip. “It’s also the first time we’ve ever had fans on set for day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them. We’ve got some familiar faces on set. You know, Im just going to do my best, hopefully get it right. No pressure.”
Holland began filming scenes for Brand New Day — the first Spider-Man movie since 2021’s No Way Home — on location in Glasgow, Scotland on Friday, Aug. 8. While Marvel Studios and Sony have not yet shared details regarding the upcoming movie’s story, the Glasgow set appeared set up to resemble Peter Parker’s hometown New York City rather than Scotland’s largest city.
Holland costars in the Spider-Man franchise with his real-life fiancée Zendaya, whom he became engaged to around the holidays in 2024. The couple were recently photographed spending time together on the movie’s set in London. Although 2021’s No Way Home ended with Zendaya’s character Michelle “MJ” Jones losing her memories of Holland’s Peter Parker, the two-time Emmy Award winner appears poised to reprise her role in the new film alongside returning costars Jacob Batalon and Jon Favreau. The Bear‘s Liza Colón-Zayas and Stranger Things‘ Sadie Sink will also join the movie’s cast.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in theaters July 31, 2026. Moviegoers will be treated to a double dose of Holland and Zendaya on the big screen in summer 2026, as the couple will also star together in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey, which hits theaters July 18, 2026.
