Unexpected Pair Angelina Jolie and Gizelle Bryant Pose Together at Their Daughters’ Sorority Brunch
Angelina Jolie and The Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant revealed an unexpected bond at a sorority event in Atlanta over the weekend.
Bryant, 55, shared photos of herself and the Hollywood icon, 50, posing with their daughters — Angel, 19, and Zahara, 21, respectively — during a brunch at Spelman College on Sunday, April 26. The RHOP star celebrated the “mother-daughter magic,” as Angel and Zahara are both members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Social media footage from the event — which was sponsored by Pearls of Purpose Foundation and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority — showed Zahara delivering a speech about the “value of mother-daughter relationships.” (Zahara is graduating from Spelman College with a major in psychology.)
“It felt challenging to find the words … Not challenging because I don’t value it, but because my mom and I have a unique, almost kindred relationship that can be hard to put into words,” Zahara explained.
Zahara touched on the dynamic within her famous family. (Jolie and ex-husband Brad Pitt also shared Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Shiloh, 19 and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17.)
“Our love for each other is a found one,” she explained. “I was adopted at 6 months old and given some of the most special and loving people as my siblings. With a mom who raised us on the value of helping others, being kind and always striving for growth as people.”
“These values may sound simple, but in a world where kindness is overlooked and helping others comes at a cost, I am grateful to have had a role model show me what it looks like to be a decent human being,” she argued. “For any daughters in the room who may know the feeling of seeing their mom as a superhero and not knowing how she does it, this is something I’ve been trying to understand my whole life.”
She went on to describe Jolie as “the most selfless, loving and understanding woman that I get to call my mom.”
“With the addition of the public life that we live, it can be difficult to find those special and intimate moments without being overwhelmed with the many eyes that are on us,” Zahara acknowledged. “This has never stopped my mom from being curious about all that I am learning in and outside of my classrooms at Spelman.”
Meanwhile, Bryant has a 35-year history with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, as she was a member during her college years at Hampton University. Her daughter, Adore, is also a member of the historic sorority at Hampton.
The Bravo star welcomed Angel to the Alpha Kappa Alpha family when her daughter officially pledged last fall.
“CONGRATULATIONS ANGEL who is now my SOROR. 🩷💚🩷💚Tears of joy and pride I have felt all day,” Bryant announced in November 2025. “LEGACY! Welcome to the beautiful pink and green world of Alpha Kappa Alpha.”
Gizelle is a mom to Grace, 20, as well as twins Adore and Angel. She shares her three daughters with ex-husband Jamal Bryant, to whom he was married from 2002 to 2009.
