Vanderpump Rules’ Ally Lewber Announces Split from James Kennedy After His Domestic Violence Arrest: ‘I Was Not Physically Hurt’
James Kennedy and Ally Lewber have gone their separate ways.
On Wednesday, Jan 22, the Vanderpump Rules star confirmed that she and the DJ, 32, had broken up after Kennedy’s lawyer Scott Leemon confirmed that the Burbank City Attorney’s Office would not be filing charges against him in relation to his Dec. 2024 arrest on suspicion of domestic violence.
“Thank you for all your support and kindness,” Lewber wrote in a post shared to her Instagram Stories. “I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James as I never desired criminal charges. We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt.”
The astrologer admitted she was “shocked by the headlines and disheartened by how the event was portrayed.”
“We are no longer together, but I’ll always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing. Thank you for your understanding,” she concluded.
On Dec. 10, Kennedy was arrested after the Burbank Police Department was called to his Los Angeles home “regarding an argument between a man and a woman,” a police spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE at the time.
“The investigation determined it was a domestic incident, leading to [Kennedy’s] arrest,” the spokesperson said. “[Kennedy] was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and later posted bail. Formal charges are pending review by the Burbank City Attorney’s office.”
At the time, TMZ, citing a law enforcement source, reported that a witness reportedly saw the Bravolebrity get physical with the unnamed woman, though authorities did not see any injuries when they arrived on the scene. He was eventually released on $20,000 bail.
A rep for Kennedy did not reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment at the time.
It had been unclear if the unnamed woman was Lewber, though the former couple had been together earlier that night at Kathy Hilton’s annual holiday party.

Lewber and Kennedy began dating in January 2022, six weeks after Kennedy broke off his engagement to his Vanderpump Rules castmate Raquel Leviss. The two met at a concert for Tom Sandoval’s band, The Most Extras, Lewber later revealed she was already familiar with Kennedy and Bravo’s hit reality TV series.
“I had seen Vanderpump Rules. During COVID, I went down the Bravo rabbit hole,” she explained to Andy Cohen during the show’s season 10 reunion, per BravoTV.com.
The pair moved in together in June 2023 and shared two cats and Kennedy’s dog, Hippie (formerly Graham).
