What Travis Kelce thinks about Taylor Swift’s raunchy ‘Wood’ song about him
Travis Kelce couldn’t help but play coy when asked how he felt about his fiancée, Taylor Swift, writing a raunchy song about him.
“‘Wood,’ great great soundtrack,” Jason Kelce told him while discussing the singer’s 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights.”
The question sent Travis into a fit of laughter as he agreed that “it’s a great song.”
“Do you feel — not confident — do you feel cocky about the song ‘Wood’?!” Jason, who couldn’t keep a straight face, said while his younger brother.
“No. Any song, you know that she references me is very … I love that girl, what do you mean? Any song that she would reference me in any way …” Travis tried to argue as Jason pointed out that it’s not a song about him but about his “appendage.”
“What?! I think you’re not understanding the song. No way!” Travis continued.
The former Philadelphia Eagles center then teased his brother by quoting the lyrics, “Redwood tree / Ain’t hard to see.”
“I thought redwood was a little … it was a generous word. If somebody wrote a song about me, it would be like ‘Japanese maple / sometimes can see,” he continued, which sent everyone in the studio in hysterics.
Travis, 36, also confirmed his favorite track was “Opalite” after Swift, 35, divulged the athlete’s top song on the album during an appearance on the “Capital Breakfast” radio show with Jordan North.
“He loves that one,” she gushed.
The Grammy winner confirmed that she referenced her fiancé in the track, saying opal is his birthstone, and one of the song’s underlying messages is that the gem can be “man-made,” similar to happiness.
“So that’s kind of what the song is about,” Swift said. “The juxtaposition of those two.”
In the No. 3 track, the hitmaker also sings about “past lovers” and meeting someone unlike anyone she has “ever met.”
“Never met no one like you before / you had to make your own sunshine / but not the sky is opalite,” she sings.
In August, Kelce previously shared that “Opalite” was his top song after Swift announced her 12th studio album on his “New Heights” podcast.
The “Lover” songstress, meanwhile, is also rumored to have penned “Wish List,” “The Life of Ophelia” and “Wood” about the NFL star.
“Wood” was dubbed Swift’s raunchiest song, as she seemingly sings about her and Kelce’s sex life.
The A-list couple got engaged after two years of dating in August, and Swift revealed she showed her beau engagement ring inspo 18 months before he popped the question during an appearance on the “Heart Breakfast” radio show Friday.
“He was just paying attention to everything, it turns out, because when I saw the ring, I [gasped],” she said of the estimated $1 million rock.
The “Cruel Summer” singer also gushed over the Super Bowl champ “crush[ing]” the proposal on “The Graham Norton Show.”
