‘White Lotus’ star Sam Nivola admits he broke NDA: ‘I’m really scared about getting sued by HBO’

Warning: This story contains spoilers for “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episodes 5 and 6.
Sam Nivola is coming clean.
The “White Lotus” star admitted in a new interview that he broke a nondisclosure agreement by warning some of his loved ones about his shocking sex scene in the HBO series.
“I told my parents, but I haven’t told my sister. She’s bad at keeping secrets,” he told Variety on Sunday.
Nivola, who is the son of actors Alessandro Nivola and Emily Mortimer, acknowledged he was “not supposed to have told anyone” because he signed “a lot of NDAs” while working on the show.
However, the rising star confessed he also gave his girlfriend, Iris Apatow, the lowdown while on location in Thailand for Season 3.
“She was there while we were shooting it. That’s about it,” he said of the people who got a heads-up, adding, “I’m really scared about getting sued by HBO.”
Sam, 21, plays Lochlan Ratliff, the youngest child of Timothy (Jason Isaacs) and Victoria (Parker Posey).
While on a family vacation, Lochlan, a shy high school senior, looks to his hunky older brother, Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), for advice on dating and coming out of his shell.
The siblings’ relationship takes an incestuous turn in Episode 5 when they get drunk and high while partying with fellow resort guests Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) and Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) and end up kissing — twice — on a dare.
But Episode 6 chronicles a hungover Lochlan and Saxon slowly coming to the realization that much more happened that night.
In flashbacks, Lochlan is seen having sex with Chloe as Saxon lies in bed next to them — and at one point, the baby-faced Ratliff teen reaches over to give his big brother a hand job.
Sam told Variety he was “totally nervous” to shoot the controversial scene, especially since Schwarzenegger, 31, was “already like a brother” to him during production.
“It was very weird kissing Patrick because he’s a really good friend of mine. And, you know, I’m straight, he’s straight. It’s already weird,” he explained, adding, “It felt sort of f–ked up.”
“The White Lotus” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and Max.
