Whitney Leavitt hints at ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ exit
Whitney Leavitt admitted that it “feels like it’s time” to leave the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” after four seasons on the Hulu show.
“I wouldn’t be where I am without [“SLOMW”],” Leavitt told the Hollywood Reporter Monday, “But it feels like it’s time to challenge myself in other ways and fulfill these dreams and passions that I’ve been trying to get even before the show.”
“Well, I’m figuring it out in real time,” she explained of making the tough decision, adding that she and her husband, Connor Leavitt, are “figuring it out together.”
“But it feels like that’s the trajectory of where it’s going,” she concluded.
Since Whitney and the rest of MomTok skyrocketed to fame because of “SLOMW,” she has been able to pursue her dreams of dancing and acting.
Whitney, 32, competed on Season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars” where she and her partner Mark Ballas made it to the semi-finals.
She then made her Broadway debut last month playing Roxie Hart in “Chicago,” and will star in a romantic comedy film set for a holiday 2026 release.
While juggling all of these roles, Whitney told the outlet that she has been filming for the upcoming season of “SLOMW,” but her busy schedule is what made her question if she can continue.
Members of MomTok taking opportunities outside of the group was also a point of contention throughout Season 4. But when Whitney was asked if she thinks the women expect her to turn opportunities down, she replied, “I don’t know if that’s an expectation.”
“I wouldn’t be where I am without that platform and this group that we created, this business that we created, but maybe it’s time for me to branch out in other areas,” she continued.
“And I feel, today, that each one of them would support me in that.”
Whitney also clarified that she won’t “ever close a door” on reality TV even if she exits “SLOMW.”
In pursuit of her dreams, Whitney and Connor moved their family of six to Los Angeles for “DWTS” and then New York for “Chicago.”
While competing on the dance competition show back in September, Whitney exclusively told Page Six how much her husband’s support for her career means to her.
“Connor’s always pushed me to go after what I want to do. And I tell him all the time, I wouldn’t be able to do it if it weren’t for that support. So I’m very blessed and very grateful,” she gushed.
