Whitney Leavitt’s Grandpa Adorably Asks Neighbor to Help Him Vote for Her on DWTS in Viral Video

Whitney Leavitt’s grandpa is showing up for his granddaughter – from afar!

Leavitt, 32, has been competing on this season of Dancing with the Stars alongside pro partner Mark Ballas, and the pair have consistently been sitting at the top of the scoreboard in the six weeks since the season premiered on Sept. 16.

Her family and friends have shown up time and again to watch Leavitt at the live tapings of the show in Los Angeles, with her daughter making a cute appearance during the show’s Disney Night.

And, there’s another member of her family who is also keeping up with Leavitt’s progress: her grandfather. In a TikTok video shared by user @brii_5212, Brii revealed that she’s neighbors with Leavitt’s grandfather and regularly comes over each week to help him vote.

“My neighbor calls me every Tuesday to ask me to vote for his granddaughter on his behalf,” Brii wrote in text over her video. “It’s his way of supporting her since he’s not good with phones.”

Continuing on, Brii shared clips of her at Leavitt’s grandfather’s house, where she could be seen helping him learn how to navigate the Dancing with the Stars voting system.

“I decided to spend some time with him and show him how,” she wrote. “He’s the sweetest proud grandpa.”

In the video, Leavitt’s grandfather could also be seen wearing a shirt bearing the words “Whark It” (which friends and family of the influencer have been spotted wearing in the audience) and a picture of Leavitt and Ballas dancing together.

The video has quickly gone viral, with over one million views on TikTok and 267,400 likes. Leavitt herself even weighed in with a sweet comment.

“This made me so emotional 🥹 Thank you so much for helping him 💖 love and miss you SO SO MUCH grandpa,” Leavitt chimed in.

Brii responded to Leavitt, writing, “I’m so glad this reached you! he deserves all the love and recognition for the way he supports you. It’s just so heartwarming 🥰💛”

Leavitt’s husband, Conner, also weighed in in the comments section, writing, “Grandpa Lockhart is the best!!”

Speaking with PEOPLE earlier in the competition, Leavitt shared that being on the show is made even more special knowing her kids are witnessing it.

“My family rallies around me in a different way — my husband and kids bring me so much strength and joy. It’s a full-circle moment for me,” she shared.

Leavitt will continue to compete on next week’s Halloween episode of Dancing with the Stars, after earning the first 10 of the competition for her dance to “Popular” from Wicked on Oct. 21.
