Why Brittany Cartwright cries every time she looks in the mirror post-mommy makeover

Brittany Cartwright is glowing — and crying happy tears every time she catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror.
The “Valley” star exclusively tells Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” that she’s been overcome with emotion in the weeks following her recent “mommy makeover,” a transformative procedure that included removing her breast implants — originally purchased by her estranged husband, Jax Taylor — in favor of a new, more natural look.
“I’m very swollen right now,” she says while promoting her Clorox partnership. “I’m only two and a half weeks out, so I can’t wait to see the footage every single day, every single week that passes — because I’m going to be swollen for a long time. So every week that passes, every day that passes, every time I take a shower, I cry in the mirror because I’m so happy.”
Cartwright, 35, says her tears are all part of a healing journey that feels both physical and emotional — one that represents newfound confidence after navigating a painful split from Taylor in the public eye.
The pair, who tied the knot in 2019 after starring together on “Vanderpump Rules,” announced their separation in February 2024 after months of tension, much of which has played out on Bravo’s “The Valley.” (Taylor announced his departure from the show this July, while Cartwright is staying put on the reality series.)
Now, Cartwright is focused on herself — and she’s unapologetic about that.
“I feel like [my mommy makeover is] the most me thing I have done in a very long time,” she says. “And I’m not going to lie. There was a little bit of mom guilt that came with it, which I didn’t expect.”
The reality star, who shares 3-year-old son Cruz with Taylor, admits recovery temporarily made it harder to keep up with her energetic little boy.
“Me and Cruz, our relationship is very huggy, lovey, playing all day, him jumping on me because he’s a little boy and everything else,” she explains.
“So there was a little bit of mom guilt in there [because] I couldn’t do that. But I’m getting better every day … I feel like he knows that and he noticed that about me.”
While Cartwright opted to downsize her implants, she’s still keeping her signature bombshell figure.
“Before, my boobs were so big that I couldn’t even, like, move around side to side,” she says. “I still have big boobs because I still wanted big boobs — like, let’s be real. But they are so much smaller, and I feel so much lighter … I finally feel — because I’ve grown so much — as good on the inside as I do on the outside.”
Fans have flooded the Bravo star with messages of encouragement since she revealed details of her makeover, something she says has meant the world.
“It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years, so it’s not something I just decided on a whim,” she shares. “And the fact that I’m getting so much support about it is really incredible to me. I really appreciate that.”
She also sets the record straight on speculation that Taylor once pressured her into going bigger.

“I definitely wanted breast implants,” she insists. “I think a lot of people were like, ‘Oh, Jax pushed you into having a bigger size.’ He might have, if I look back and watch that episode [of ‘Vanderpump Rules’], like, maybe.
But at the same time, I wanted bigger boobs. After I had my son and breastfed and my weight fluctuated so much, that’s why my boobs kept getting bigger and bigger.”
Now that she’s lighter — both physically and emotionally — Cartwright says she’s ready to sparkle again.
“I think people saw what I went through and how I was talked to and spoken about for so long,” she reflects. “They really hope, just like me, that it’s something that’s going to help with my sparkle and everything else that I always talk about.”
Cartwright chatted with “Virtual Reali-Tea” while celebrating another fresh start — teaming up with Clorox and honoring the launch of its Crisp Lemon Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.
“I love a good clean home,” she says with a smile. “And now that I’m feeling more like myself again, I want everything around me to shine, too.”
