Why Teyana Taylor isn’t putting a label on her relationship with Aaron Pierre yet

Teyana Taylor isn’t calling Aaron Pierre her boyfriend just yet.

The “Gonna Love Me” singer addressed her relationship with the “Mufasa: The Lion King” star on Wednesday, but declined to put a label on their romance at the moment.

“If that’s something that I decide to say, then it’s going to be something that we say together,” she told the Hollywood Reporter while discussing their connection.

However, the “One Battle After Another” star, 34, gushed over Pierre, 31, calling him her “apple pie” and explaining that they “are each other’s safe space.”

Taylor and Pierre first sparked romance rumors when they were seen seated together at the American Black Film Festival Honors in February.

Pierre later shared photos with Taylor from their attendance at the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala to his Instagram on Feb. 2.

Taylor further fueled romance rumors with the “Rebel Ridge” star in May 2025 by sharing a photo carousel of the pair taken during the 2025 Oscars.

“Oscar night in black & white, no grey area. 🤍,” Taylor captioned the photos with Pierre.

The relationship was confirmed in June when a video of the two stars locking lips began circulating on social media.

The clip was taken around the same time that Taylor surprised Pierre with a special 31st birthday party.

She also marked his birthday on social media with yet another flirty post showing a collection of cozy couple photos.

“Cheers to Thirty-WON & many more wins around the sun. 🌹 H”AP”PY BIRTHDAY Woody 🎈,” she captioned the post alongside two cozy photos of the pair together.
