Warning: Spoilers ahead for the Gen V season 2 finale!
The Godolkin University school year has come to an end, but will Gen V be re-enrolling?
Season 2 of The Boys spinoff saw the superpowered college students in a battle against Thomas Godolkin (Ethan Slater), the villainous namesake of their school.
The satirical action series first debuted on Prime Video in September 2023, with season 2 premiering in September 2025. The latest episodes concluded on Oct. 22, and after the action-packed finale, fans might be wondering whether Gen V will be back to battle more offenders.
So, with season 2 over, here’s what to know about a potential Gen V season 3.
Will there be a season 3 of Gen V?
The season 2 finale of Gen V premiered on Oct. 22, but The Boys spinoff has not been officially renewed for season 3.
In an October 2025 interview with TheWrap, co-creator and executive producer Eric Kripke said viewer numbers will play a role in the show getting renewed.
“Now’s the time that they’re paying attention to the numbers. So don’t watch even a year from now,” Kripke noted. “Turn on Prime [Video] and watch it now. If enough people watch, then we’ll get a Season 3.”
What have the Gen V creators said about season 3?
Kripke teased to TheWrap that the creative team has “a plan for Gen V season 3, and we’re psyched about it.”
“But we need enough viewers to watch Season 2 to justify Season 3,” he said.
In an October 2025 Variety interview, Gen V co-showrunner Michele Fazekas added, “I think there is any number of ways you could do a third season.”
As for other future installments of Gen V, Kripke told TheWrap that he’s open to it.
“As long as there’s an interesting story to tell and new facets to reveal, I’m in,” he shared. “Without spoiling anything, I think the universe post-The Boys Season 5 is such a fascinating universe, there’s a lot to explore.”
Kripke described the world after The Boys ends as more of a “wild west in terms of … anything goes,” he explained. “And I think that would be a blast to put the Gen V kids in the middle of.”
Which cast members could return for Gen V season 3?
The characters played by Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, Lizze Broadway, London Thor and Derek Luh all survived the Gen V season 2 finale, so the actors could reprise their roles if the series is renewed.
A former cast member who could potentially return is Patrick Schwarzenegger, who was featured in season 1, but didn’t appear in season 2 due to scheduling conflicts with The White Lotus.
“No, I wish [I was in Gen V season 2], but I was, we were actually filming White Lotus at the same time that they were filming Gen V,” the actor told Screen Rant in February 2025. “It didn’t work out [for season 2 of Gen V], but maybe season three or some other time.”
How will Gen V connect to the final season of The Boys?
Gen V and The Boys take place in the same universe, and the two series impact each other.
Season 1 of Gen V led into The Boys season 4, and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, season 2 of Gen V will set up what’s ahead for The Boys season 5, the final season of the Prime Video series.
According to his interview with TheWrap, Kripke said The Boys season 5 will pick up “about six months after Gen V season 2 ends.”
Where can I watch Gen V?
Seasons 1 and 2 of Gen V are available to stream on Prime Video.
