Tate McRae Keeps Dancing After Shoe Flies Off for a Second Time During Onstage Wardrobe Malfunction

Tate McRae knows that the show must go on!

A TikTok user caught a video of the “Greedy” singer, 22, handling a wardrobe malfunction during her “Exes” performance at her concert in Edmonton, Canada, on Thursday, Aug. 7.

At the Rogers Place arena, one of many stops on her Miss Possessive Tour, the singer turned around and kicked her foot, but her black heel flew right off. After realizing she’s missing one of her shoes, she said into the microphone: “What the f—?”

She then removed her other shoe and tossed it off the stage with a smile. “Jesus Christ,” she said, before jumping right back into the choreography with her backup dancers.

Meanwhile, another TikTok user posted an additional video of McRae losing a different shoe during a different performance at the Edmonton concert.

Like the other mishap, McRae kicked her foot, and her white shoe went missing. But after she completed the dance number, she said to the crowd: “Hold on, f— the music. I need to put my shoes back on.” Unfortunately, then she realized they were missing and said, “Who took them? No, one sec!”

McRae proceeded to run off stage, and once she came back, told the crowd: “Okay, we got it back together. Sorry about the malfunction, guys. This always seems to happen to me in Alberta. Hometown curse, I guess.” (McRae is originally from Calgary in the Canadian province of Alberta.)

The singer’s recent hometown show comes weeks after her now ex-boyfriend, The Kid LAROI, seemingly confirmed their split.

On Friday, July 25, the Australian rapper, 21, shared a screenshot of an interaction with someone who appears to be on his team via X, seemingly confirming he and the “Sports Car” artist have broken up after first sparking dating rumors in early 2024.

In response to a fan accusing his team of “paying for slander tweets” against McRae, the “STAY” performer denied that he had anything to do with the situation.

McRae and The Kid LAROI initially sparked romance rumors in January 2024, when the pop star shared an Instagram mirror selfie where she appeared to be wearing his shirt. In April 2024, The Kid LAROI seemingly confirmed their romance. He revealed during one of his concerts that “his girlfriend” was at the gig — which McRae was watching from backstage.

Reps for The Kid LAROI and McRae did not respond to PEOPLE’s original request for comment.
