Fifth Harmony star Lauren Jauregui gives epic one-word response to shocking ‘DWTS’ elimination
Now she can “Work from Home.”
Fifth Harmony singer Lauren Jauregui delivered a savage one-word reply after being eliminated from “Dancing With The Stars” Tuesday night.
When asked how she was feeling about ending her short time on ABC’s dance competition series, she curtly replied with one word: “Pissed.”
The audience immediately broke out into laughter, and her dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, also gave a hearty giggle.
The singer, 29, then went on to acknowledge how “grateful” she was to have been matched up with Armstrong.
“I’m so grateful to have had you as a partner,” she told him.
Thursday’s episode of the show was themed “TikTok Night,” inspiring Jauregui and Armstrong to perform her group’s hit 2017 song, “Work from Home.”
She and the dance pro even incorporated dance moves from the song’s music video, which was choreographed by Sean Bankhead, who was in the ballroom showing his support.
Also in the audience last night were Jauregui’s bandmates: Normani, Dinah Jane and Ally Brooke — though Camila Cabello was nowhere to be seen.
Jauregui’s fans had a field day with her blunt reaction to being booted after just three weeks.
“She was so real for this. I loved that honest response from her. I was pissed too!” one fan wrote in an Instagram comment, adding, “I’m not trying to be rude, but really, there’s no way a certain someone there has a bigger fan base than Lauren…I don’t buy it. 😤😩.”
“Pissed is the perfect word,” a second supporter wrote.
“She gave us Face, Honesty, Rage and Charm: ICONIC & untimely rightfully Pissed. 🫶🏽🔥,” another added.
Jauregui’s honesty elicited comparisons to former “DWTS” competitor Anna Delvy, who also gave a one-word reply when asked about her elimination.
After Delvy and Ezra Sosa were eliminated on week two of Season 33, the “fake heiress” was asked what she would “take away from the competition.”
“Nothing,” Delvy notoriously answered, prompting a meme-worthy moment that went viral online.
Jauregui did discuss her elimination in more detail in a post-show interview, telling “Good Morning America” that she will “genuinely” miss being able to dance with Armstrong and that she loved being on the show.
“It’s such a special place to be, so [I’m] upset about it,” she admitted.
